Ford dealers received a document yesterday containing more info about Mustang orders. Seen it but not got a copy unfortunately.

My Ford dealer told me that on 1st of May they would be able to see all the bookings on their system and will know exactly when my Mustang has the build date. We would be able to change any specs from 15the May. Cars will be build from August 2015 with first deliveries staring in November.

Well, finally caved in after very recently selling my '07 Mustang GT/CS. I was going to wait until next year, but given that it looks like cars won't be delivered until then anyway, I've dropped the deposit to secure my place.

Deep impact blue V8 GT manual, ebony leather with custom pack (though these details were just taken as a hand written note??). I was initially put off by the thought of 'chrome trim around side windows' which sounds horrific, but having seen a pic of it on the Race Red car (back of printed brochure the dealers have), I actually quite like it. The same goes for the nickel allows - the picture of them on the white car makes them look awful, like they're black inside the wheel, but a pdf showed them as being all silver which will work nicely with the blue (I hope!).

Order is with Gowrings Reading (along with 45ish others eek ) so I'd be interested to hear from any others who also have left deposits with them to monitor progress?

Order form (well, waiting list form) just arrived and all good - so the waiting begins!

Nice to be in line with the rest of you smile

First time I've ever been 'welcomed' on PH hehe

But good to be among the group of excited owners-to-be. Have loved the last 8 years with my previous Mustang, but the new one will be far more of an everyday car than that was smile

Well out of the two of us on this thread that are with Gowrings, one has had an email from Ford to say "hi, got your order" and the other (me!), has heard nothing from either Ford or Gowrings, despite paying my deposit before the other guy! So don't get your hopes up. tongue out

Odd that you haven't heard from Gowrings - but to be fair, I think it's taken a while for the dealers to be 'educated' in terms of how to take the deposits etc.

I got an email just a few hours after leaving the deposit with the 'Mustang Waiting List - Vehicle Reservation Form' which confirmed the spec. I expect once the order processing is on-line I'll receive something from FMCo (or not :hahasmile

I've resigned myself to not getting the car before 2016 anyway - so whilst the wait will be tortuous, I'm in no desperate hurry. I was also given the impression that once the order process is on-line, other options may become avialable?

I hope so - as not making the Recaros avialable in the UK (yet) is a huge shame.

Chance of dicsount = nil I'd say until maybe 2017.

Halo model for the brand. Supply will be limited to keep it 'special'. The only way prices 'may' come down is when special editions come in (California Special likely in 2016).

At the moment I'm torn between staying with my order or canning it and waiting to see if they bring the GT350 to the UK in RHD .... they look SOOOOO good! (evidence below) smokin

.... also, WTF is liquid blue not being offered as a standard MY2016 colour?! It looks fan-fcensoredg-tastic! confused

I had the same thoughts - but, to bring the Shelby in officially means type-approval which I expect will be tricky - and more importantly for Ford, expensive.

Then there's the price. I expect it will be £45-50k vs 35k for a fully loaded GT. That's a big premium for another 50hp and a flat plane crank with some cosmetic mods and fancy dampers.

Given that you can lob a Ford Racing Supercharger (warranty effect unknown at the mo) on for about £5-6k giving you 627hp - is it worth the premium?

This has always been the case with Shelby models. You pay a big premium for the name, but you can easily equal or beat the performance for much, much less - and this time even with official Ford Racing hop-up products!

As for the colour - I think it would be a bit insipid in the UK.

I bought mine last night.
3 weeks until delivery.. Living in the USA..
Even received some Dealer cost incentives to reduce the price..! An English accent works wonders over here.

Same as this one.

New to PH, and so glad to have found this forum.

Ordered mine on 26th March through Allen Ford Swindon with a £2k deposit. V8, convertible, race red, auto, ebony leather & custom pack. Apart from a phone call from the guy in the dealership a few days later to thank me, tell me he'd sent the order off and would keep in touch, and that he is as excited as me (he isn't) nothing yet from Ford. Thanks to everyone else who has posted, I know I'm not alone now!

For what it's worth on the colours; I've seen a few through Bill Shepherd and they look stunning in any colour. Even the orange one he's had parked outside this week doesn't look over the top, especially when the sun is out.

For those looking for more upgrades or holding off for uprated specs, I understand that Bill Shepherd have been appointed Shelby agents so will be able to do authorised upgrades on LHD and RHD Mustangs.

I think the UK spec has been 'standardised' compared to other EU LHD markets so that the production line changes are simplified and the most popular configs can be shot through like shelling peas. I'd be interested to see if other RHD markets have the same spec options as the UK.

Like everyone else, I can't wait. Keep posting

We had the orange GT with performance pack as our half day test drive yesterday, it does look good, but is a bit TOO Shouty to use as a daily driver..

for info, in line with some other posts ..just had a call from my ford dealer (Allen ford - Northampton) ...confirming they've had an internal bulletin indicating Mustang 'reservations' will be accessible on the ford production / ordering system (Vista) from 1st May (ish). I have the option in the 1st 2 weeks of May to change my spec if necessary ..

At least things are starting to happen now ....smile
have fun
