What I want to know is, given that the UK cars will come with performance pack as standard, will we get the carbon-look dashboard (that comes with the performance pack in the US) or the silver one? Not a fan of the silver at all, so I hope we get the upgraded dash![/footnote]
It's not actually carbon-look, it's an engined-turned finish. Although I think from the one I sat in in the US it's actually plastic...

Have to say the standard silver looked better than I expected - I'd still like the extra dials, but wouldn't mind too much if we get the standard finish.

I was renewing the insurance on my car with Admiral and I asked if they had the new Mustang in their database and could they give me a ballpark figure.

They could only quote on the 2.3 as the 5.0 is not in their computer. I wonder if the cheaper companies just won't insure the bigger engined car.

My mistake! This is the dash I hope they come with:

I'm buying a Mustang. I'm buying a kicking, screaming, roaring beast that sticks two fingers up to pretty Porsches, carbon footprints and 1 ltr toy cars. It makes no sense for the UK with our tax and petrol costs, but maybe that is the whole point. Caveman motoring at its best!
I completely agree biggrin
Caveman motoring indeed! .... hopefully that doesn't mean we're almost extinct! smile I still reckon Ford have badly misjudged what people want from a Mustang in the UK (and Europe), which is why (it looks like) we're not getting the complete, full-fat 'caveman' experience, just a 'refined' tourer frown

It does look pretty carbon-like in some pictures! In the flesh it looks a lot more metallic, it's quite a nice finish despite not being real aluminium. Found a pic that shows it more as I remember:

Yep, was in a Volvo hire car yesterday (worst luck ever), and they didn't bother swapping the handbrake when they ported to RHD too. I ended up grabbing my female colleague's leg, twice.

I called my dealer today to see if any news... none that isn't on here already, but he did say "i've got good news - you made into into the first batch of cars so you'll definitely see yours this side of Christmas".... then went on to say that anyone ordering today is being told 12-18 month wait at least... I ordered at the beginning of Feb.

Funny to think that we are days away from the order books officially opening yet nobody knows what we are getting. The Ford UK site looks very amateurish.

Thought it might be updated by now.

I still want the car but I feel a bit miffed that I read all the blurb including stuff about the iconic front tri marks being replicated by lights as well as talk of the also iconic rear red tri-bar lights. So it was for the car and these styling cues that I placed my deposit down.
It's got to be said that the continued lack of information from Ford is pretty appalling! I read somewhere that it's something like 2200 orders placed for Europe so far? And no one knows anything! There's still people on here that seem to think we're getting the entire U.S. Performance Pack when we're most likely just getting the brakes! I'm putting mine on hold until there's some more definite info - I stated the from the outset that I don't want the car until March next year - the dealers attitude is that whenever it turns up I have got to take delivery and with no idea of when that might be. The other reason for holding off is colour choice - I'd put down Magnetic but actually seeing one in person in that colour was very disappointing to me (just the colour - not the car!). It will be a 'keeper' for me and I don't want any doubts over colour choice. £35k's still a fair chunk of money to most people. Come on Ford sort it out!

I have to say that looks brilliantly sinister. My Grand Marquis was black with heavy tinted windows. A set of black wheels would have been the perfect addition.

Now reconsidering an order change. Currently Competition Orange.

You of course realise those photos were taken at the precise 3.2 seconds that it was perfectly clean? Straight after that it was filthy & looked slightly grey. wink

Good point. My Marquis looked pretty shabby most of the time but I only remember it as it was after a wash and polish biggrin

BTW a video about some of the new Mustang's interior design

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dO_aOUPpDNE

I wonder what those original designers would make of the Euro modifications?

I was thinking of changing too. I ordered the Magnetic but now I'm wavering between black and blue. Mrs Unpc wants black. I'm not sure I like the other colours.

Funny that, I'm the same... have seen a few comments about Magnetic being dull, and fear that many of the really amazing pics of Magnetic are only in the right light, and after a huge amount of waxing.

I've always avoided red cars, but I'm actually now leaning towards Race Red (and that's even with knowing how difficult red is to look after as a colour), it just really suits this car and brings out the black splitters, wheels etc...

I've got a metallic grey car already (so why would I want another?!) and in direct sunlight or artificial light it looks great - as long as it's clean, of course smile ..... but any other time it does tend to just blend into the background. So I think I'll definitely be changing - just not quite sure what I'm going to change to as yet. I've always been undecided between Magnetic and DIB, but I want something that says 'muscle-car' not 'refined tourer'. I'm beginning to think that whatever I go for will need to be enhanced by OTT stripes (and a loud exhaust, obviously biggrin ) .... black on black with very dark silver stripes might look pretty cool.
