I know yellow will be an issue, Not sure if I have some thinking time before it's locked in? I'm torn as the magnetic looks awesome too but obviously more subdued, my thinking was that I wasn't pretending to be a grown up buying a mustang (not a mid life crisis I never really matured past 14 I just pretended for 25 years)

I'm thinking about PCP as a finance option and then change in 2 years if I like the car (or just buy it if I love it) but how to pay is a consideration for a few months time.

I'm curious what people are in now if they are changing, have had an M135i for 18 months and it's quick but dull, what did you reject for a Mustang. are people here veteran pony car owners too?

for the list manual, fastback and custom pack.

I was about to buy a used XKR after a long, long process of whittling down the options, with a budget of, at a push, £35K! I wasn't happy that it was an auto, but an absolute condition of purchase from Mrs Mac was four seats and nothing with four seats that I liked came with a manual.

Then I realised that the Mustang was RHD, had four seats, a manual gearbox, was only £35K and had a traditional US N/A V8 and any thoughts of the Jag vanished.

That said I have always liked US Pony/Muscle Cars and had a C6 Corvette on loan from a very trusting colleague when I was in the US last year, which sealed the liking (a manual Z06 was on the short-list, but only has two seats!!).

I don't mind the s197, but the overall looks of the s550, coupled with the overall quality improvement and sheer difference from the other homogeneous stuff on the UK's roads, made me decide to do something I never, ever, thought I'd do - buy a new car!

Plus the wealth of after-market options and upgrades available will mean that there will always be something to tinker with smile

I am considering trading our new Audi in for one. Annoyingly I only paid for it two days before discovering the Mustang!!!

The only saving grace is we will of had it for a year by the time the mustang is delivered.

Current cars are an E46 M3 track car, 1350kg and 400BHP.
Daily is a yellow 997.1 C2S with aerokit and GT3 suspension, I'll be selling this to make room for Stang. Previously owned a Saleen S197 smile

Never had that in the 18 months of my Dakar Yellow M3 ownership.

BMW Dakar Yellow is more of weak piss colour than the bright, flower-yellow of the Mustang, no? wink

I paid deposit before xmas, Ford called me a few times and confirmed the spec I want. I've gone for V8 manual (of course) with Absolute Black, custom pack, ceramic interior. Was told firm orders are being placed shortly, mine should be built in August and shipped by October.

We'll see! Still surprised I managed to secure one but proof will be in delivery! Very, very excited.

Actually, its funny, I've said I'd never buy brand new, nearly new sure, but not brand new. As soon as I heard this was going to be RHD it was never a question. I'm delighted the price is so low (relatively speaking) and would have happily paid more, for me its just a must-have car.

'charge it in a few years and it will be a right beast.

Perhaps the bugs decided that they'd rather die on an RS Megane 250 than an M3 wink.

I'm down for a V8 manual. Magnetic or Impact Blue - haven't made my mind up yet. However, I'm still concerned about this story from Autocar, who are usually pretty accurate when it come to this kind of stuff. What this story implies is that the standard V8 will be upgraded to 500bhp at some point - not a special model like the GT350, the standard factory V8 will become 500bhp. Now, whilst I don't think 412bhp is in anyway lacking, if the car gets a not insignificant 80bhp upgrade a few months after I take delivery I'm not going to be happy. I've emailed Ford and got some vague reply that said nothing. I'm currently trying to get in touch with the author of this story to see if he can clarify what it means.
As I understand it the order books open in May for RHD cars, so hopefully some official word will be available by then - but if anyone has more definitive information please share it.

I've heard this too but I don't buy it as they need to keep a clear distance between the GT and the GT350 I would have thought. Besides if yours gets delivered with measly 412 I'm sure it won't difficult to unleash another 88.

Well cars in the USA are putting down 360-390WHP depending on dyno type so that is equal to around 435 crank horsepower.

Guys adding tunes, intake, manifolds and exhaust are then getting anywhere between 420-450BHP WHP power, so that is a clear 60 horsepower gain at the wheels which is about 70 horsepower crank, that is around 500BHP crank.

I doubt Ford can get 500 out of the Coyote on a commercial scale without some serious engine work/modifications, then like others have said it would be far to close in power to the GT350 which has 520BHP at the crank.

If any kind of power revision comes it will probably be 20-30BHP more, so around 450-460 crank for USA cars and around 435BHP for Europe due to our emissions.

I don't see it, but if it did happen it would be a big upset as it would mean Ford did some serious work to the engine which would be worthwhile for sure because doing the tune, intake and exhaust route would no doubt get you over 550BHP crank on a revised engine, that's damn quick!

I was watching a video with a Mustang that colour. I must say that I'm tempted to change mine from Orange. Very nice.

Would be nice to see the actual car in the flesh before finalising options.

^^^^ Im fairly decisive, so once I've made up my mind thats itsmile my decision was helped by the fact that I wanted dark saddle leather, and its only available on 3 external colours..

I originally looked at the metallic grey, but changed my mind when I saw it on a Mondeo........So Guard metallic it is...yes

Just filling in a Mustang Waiting List - Vehicle Reservation Form woohoo

Exterior colour Magnetic - but just can't settle on Leather Trim colour! The Ebony looks a bit plain, not sure about the Ceramic and don't think the Dark saddle really goes with it!

I love the interior colour in this picture, against the exterior it takes it to another level in my eyes ;

Guard is definitely a colour I'd want to see in the flesh first and in different lights. I think it would be a lot like a Petrol VX220 which looks amazing in person.

It's just the form that I was given at the Ford dealer / FordStore to complete and take back in with deposit. I guessed everyone else had done one?
