The dealer I went to on Tuesday had a white one that was a left hooker that you could sit in and he started it up.

So tonight I went to the Mustang unveil event at Vospers in Exeter, complete with my VIP badge they sent me for being someone that's ordered one.

Fair play a good event, they laid on a hot dog stand, coffee bar, drinks and snacks, had a chap bring his Super snake gt500 in, a beautiful 1965 mustang as well and then the unveiling of the yellow mustang.

Limited to just taking pictures of the outside, the engine bay and the boot. No chance to sit inside, apparently the ford people are precious about it because it's not finished quality interior, not sure I believe that but hey ho.

Vospers bunch a generally good bunch that don't want to make commitments they can't keep, the Ford bunch...hmmm not the most inspiring but interesting to learn that 60% of buyers across the UK are choosing the v8, and race red by far the most popular colour.

Vospers exeter have taken 22 or 23 orders, including 2 today and they've also got 2 of the champions league slot winners as well.

A shame not to get to sit in it but all in all a good event.

Pretty lucky too as supposedly there's only ten of these events across the country, Cardiff and exeter the only ones in the West of the country.

Surprised you couldn't sit in it .... that was the car i went to see up in Liverpool at Peoples and we could sit in it and play with anything we wanted - we just couldn't start it up.

If i'm reading your post correctly, there were people from Ford there? ..... if so, that certainly wasn't the case at Peoples. Any idea who they were? Did they have anything interesting to say or or were they just giving you the corporate BS? You probably weren't allowed to open the doors etc because Ford were 'officially' present.

Anyhoo, looks fantastic, doesn't it?! smile

Does anyone know the whereabouts of the demo vehicles now or where they'll be in the near future. A colleague wants to take a gander...

If my information is correct, Norwich on the 19th to 22nd June (Busseys) and the Goodwood FoS on the 25th to 28th (not sure which days the Mustang is there though).

Aha. I was at Think Ford when they unveiled their white US Mustang. They started it a few times.

Sounded great. I'll be happy to wait until the warranty has expired before fitting a louder exhaust.

If it was, that's their own car according to the salesman so wouldn't have been issue.

Anyways....if anyone on here is planning to go look at the yellow one doing the tour, or knows anyone that is, can you please try and get a few pics at different angles of the door mirror mounts/supports/arms/fixings so I can try and take a guess as to whether the smaller US ones are likely to just bolt-on?

Cheers.

Strange how different people perceive different things .... I've read a few posts on Mustang6G from people in the States who think the Euro mirrors and rear lights look better than the US ones and are looking to change them. Maybe you could set up a swap! smile

Anyway, this was the best picture I got of the door mirrors. I would have thought the mounting would be the same with just a different mirror - but I stand to be corrected on that ....

I'm hoping that's the case.

I've seen a thread on 6G asking about the clear lenses, but the only comments I've seen on the mirrors were, a particular favourite of mine, "they look like a we's ears". rofl

That must be very exciting. Are you one of the champions league winners?
Supertile's post on page 39 suggests he is.

Supertile - pleased for you but got to be honest, sooooooo jealous.

On the plus side Meerkat is suggesting 300 quid fully comp which is better than I expected although I wont be surprised to see that change once insurers get the car properly added to their databases. Feels like a bodge at the moment. Matches the sales process !

Does anybody know the relevance of these order numbers we're getting i.e. what the number actually means?

L4867 ordered Jan due mid November
Is that your actual number DS, and not some weird typo? wink I don't see how me and david b can have ordered in Jan as well with numbers of 65 & 67 and yet yours is 4867? confused

I did wonder if maybe the first digits were a dealer reference and then the last two were the orders within that group maybe?

We all have spoken to our dealer and we know roughly when our car is going to be built and delivered. Has anyone got a proper actual written confirmation from Ford GB with any more info? I don't even have a Lxxxx number yet!!

That would be this one. Interior fit and finish superb. It's going off for SVA then will be around for the Think group dealers to show off.

Bill Shepherd had one out and about (at the gym) last weekend; demonstrating that it fits in a parking space

Are the UK mirrors so bad? How much less, if at all, do they stick out than the US ones. I can think of better things to mod first. OEM units will cost a fortune.

Re the ford people at the Exeter event, no they weren't any new info from them.nyes it was down to them being there that it was so restricted what we could do.

Was a woman named Melinda from Marketing and a chap called Adrian from Ford credit who when pressed on liked GMFV didn't offer any opinion other than 'normal is 36% of list' lol

Like you say, looks awesome and I'm pretty relaxed, it will be here when it's here, and it will be red with four wheels and a big engine. Job done. smile
