Mine was built 28th Sept 2015 but not gate released until at least a month later and finally arrived at my dealers at the end of the first week of Jan 2016.

Originally ordered 22nd Jan 2015.

I've not been bothered by not having heated leather seats. That big V8 heats the cabin up very quickly. Within a couple of miles I have to open the windows a bit. That is on an open road at 60mph so 2 minutes to warm up. biggrin

Ford UKs own terms and conditions dictate that you pay the price at the time of the order.

You must take delivery within 3 months or longer if out of your control.

Meant that mine was 2k cheaper than the current price when I got mine.

For those worried about Sync 2, don't.

You'll play with it at first then forget about it.

I hardly touch mine now and do wonder why I wasted the £795 on the Sat Nav when Google on my phone is far superior.

No time for touch screens especially when you are driving the car how it should be driven.

What's the average mpg that people are getting in the V8s? I appreciate it's going to be on the low side, but I'm wondering if it would be ruinous to run one as a daily driver.
I don't have mine yet but having looked on Fuelly it ranges from 'hey that's not bad' if you're just enjoying the cruise, to 'ooh look, single digits!' If pressing on regularly.

I'm expecting 20mpg for me.
All depends how you drive i have had my ecoboost for 6 weeks now and i use it as a daily driver traveling just 2 miles to work and back and the odd trip out at weekend and im only getting 18mpg in the 2.3 so if you drove like me in the 5.0 you would be lucky to get 8 mpg thats why the 2.3 was the best choice for me would have loved the v8 but it just didn't add up for me

I've had my V8 since January. According to the computer it has averaged 21mpg in 6000 miles. That is mainly driving like I stole it on country roads and motorway/ A road commutes. About 50/50.

Glad I don't live in London anymore as the few times I've driven in the metropolis it has rapidly dropped to 11mpg Which is the same as my half the power 4.6 V8 Grand Marquis which I did use for a daily commute from SW London to E London.

I had to drive from Reigate to Cambridge the other day and after national speed limit +, I got through the tunnel and once on the M11 I stuck on cruise at 60mph. That trip got me 27mpg which didn't change during the midnight fast return trip.

A tank of country driving, leaving it in 3rd a lot of the time gets me 16mpg.

Well after trying very hard my kids (6 yo twins) just hate it in the back of the car with the roof up, we have 2 electric cars and this is the only petrol one for family trips so it has to go (I have thought about a cheap runabout but dont really want 4 cars) - it was 900 fun miles redface(
Although it's almost impossible for my teens to be in the back, I still insist on using the Mustang instead of my old 3-series. Boy do they cheer when I opt to use the older car.

My 10 year old is snug as a bug in the back of the Mustang. Is it because of the child seats? Thought the convertible had a tiny bit more headroom.

Shame they didn't also do a coupe version, as in the old '65 shape roof, as well as the fastback.

And today its gone ....... From April to today its cost me circa £3,300 for 4.5 month use which I think is pretty good! New user is in Scotland so you my see one of 10 DIB GT Ragtops up there soon
Real shame.

Does that cost include petrol?

I lost similar on price for the same length ownership of a new Boxster 987. Worth it.

I managed to run my Grand Marquis for 8 months for no cost including fuel and insurance. Now that is what I call green motoring biggrin

6th is basically an overdrive. That's why you can get great mpg at motorway speeds. I've had 37mpg for traveling a quarter of the M25. You can put your foot down in 6th and speed will slowly build, like a locomotive. Great feeling on an empty motorway late at night but if you want instant response you need to change down.

In 5th, it's a different animal. As well as when you put it in Sport+. Makes Normal feel like Rain/Snow mode biggrin

After owning mine for 10 months, I do feel that Normal mode is still too soft whilst Sport+ is more how the car would be if it wasn't for all this new-fangled tech stuff.

Still not sure why people think it's big. Sure it's bigger than a Focus but the new M4 looks huge, as does many other what one would have called a mid size car back in the day.

My e36 looks positively tiny these days.

Willsit, I am sure you are correct but when driving an S550 it felt a lot smaller than the Camaro. That means the Gen 6 Camaro is actually smaller than the S550. Hmm.
I find it can be all down to seat and steering wheel position.

If I have my seat at it's lowest, with the wheel set as if I'm in a Nascar racer, the Mustang feels big. Seat high in an almost 4x4 position staring over the long hood and it feels small.

My first drive in a Crown Vic, I was surprised by how you are seated so high and thus have a much better idea of the car's size.

Meant that within a few days of getting my own Mercury Grand Marquee I was chucking it around London's tiny streets as if I was in my e36 biggrin

I went on one of those Super Car drives yesterday. Loved the 1968 GT500 with no power steering or servo brakes.

Drove a Gallordo and a DB9 and thought meh! I can't wait to get back into my S550 for the drive back. Thought the interiors of the Aston and Lambo sucked too

Mine arrived in Southampton the week before Christmas. My sales lady hoped to get it to me by Christmas Eve but Ford went on holiday for the whole festive period.

No such thing for us freelancers.

I finally got it the second week of January. Just shy of a year after putting my deposit down.

Worth the wait tho biggrin
