Agreed with all above re specs - would be nice to just have it in black and white...

... as a slight aside I managed to make a 1.5 hour detour via Byfleet on the way to So'ton on Sat - so we had a chance to look at two of the s550s in Bill Sheperd's. Explained to the guy there my position, and he was fine with me having a look around, which was very decent of him - also had a good poke around some of the other 'stangs there - very nice!

Regarding the s550, all I can say is pretty much to echo Croyde - it looks really good in the flesh, the interior is excellent (decidedly NOT low-rent IMO!), the gearshift seems direct, but not difficult to find a gear (when static, anyway!) and the standard seats are very nice, as well as being supportive too. Of interest to some the rear seats are also generous - certainly compared to other 2+2 coupes out there. I was able to adjust the driver's seat for me and still fit in behind in 'reasonable' short trip comfort.

Regarding colour, the Orange isn't to my taste (never was), but the Black looks stunning - would almost be tempted to change my order, but I know how much of a b'stard Black is to keep shiny! TThe DIB was away when I was there, which is a pity.

Overall I left very happy. The only problem is that Mrs Mac wasn't as keen on the looks and now seems to be in the initial stages of a passive-aggressive campaign for a 5.0 XKR instead, but she's not out and out 'off' the Mustang - she's just always liked Jaaags! biggrin

Glad you got to see them in the flesh Mike. How tall are you as I could get my legs behind the driver's seat which was in position for me but my head was jammed up against the rear window.

If its the same leather seats I sat on over here in the U.S. there pretty nice but not as nice as my 2013 recaros. However the recaros do have some quality issues.

No hood vents or red tailights? And I thought the US dot were a bunch of dicks.

Why no BLIS?

Why no Performance Pack gauges?
Are we getting a 2016 car or a 2015 car?

I want the exact same options as the American buyers get, just seems like a half hearted attempt and trying to get Mustang into the UK. I don't mind the stuff that has to be done because of EU regulation, even though every EU manufacturer seem to be able to get around every issue Ford have said in regards to red tail lights and hood vents, I just want my Mustang rather than being limited to what Ford Europe thinks is adequate for the UK buyer.
Why not just buy a US model then? I'm sure Bill Shepard et al will be bringing them over. I'd much rather have a LHD Mustang anyway... even given the option of RHD, I'd still go for LHD.

Cos Bill Shephall wants over £10,000 more for a similar spec LHD GT.

If I had money to burn biggrin

Although I will be taking mine there for servicing.

Why? Unless you do a lot of miles abroad, why pay £10K extra over the RHD version?

I personally would never have a LHD in the UK due to overtaking on country lanes which I do a lot of driving

I would also not even consider the S550 hand it been LHD only.

Lets get a list together and send it to Ford?

I will start

Are we getting the extra Dials that comes with the performance Pack Cars?
At what point in production will SYNC 3 be introduced?
Will the Recaro's be available for UK cars at a later date?

Why are you making such a balls-up of this?

Meanwhile, while we frustratingly wait for any word whatsoever, no matter how small about our 2015 cars; Ford US have today announced their schedule for MY2016 production.

We deserve to know where we fit in the schedule.... They are manufacturing 2016 cars from the beginning of August... do we get one, or not?

2016 Mustang Ordering Begins on May 11

The 2016 Mustang order banks will open on May 11, 2015, as Ford just notified dealers in a bulletin today!

I'm 6' and reasonably 'Company Director' sized biggrin

Don't get me wrong - my head was not in a good place, but I could put up with it for short journeys and the majority of people that I foresee carrying in the back will be munchkins, or similarly sized little people who happen to be adults! The main thing for me is that the seat base is quite flat and therefore my legs don't end up next to my chin. biggrin

Will there be a strut-brace?
Will there be a torque sensing diff option?
Why no Adaptive Cruise or Blind Spot?
Will the GT350 or GT350R definitely not be coming to the UK in RHD?

When I put my order in back at the end of Jan the guy at the dealer said that spec need not be finalised until May '15, at which point the order would be sent through to Flat Rock and placed in the queue. No changes would be possible after the order went to Michigan. That seems to tie in with the change over date to MY16, so with a spot of luck all UK orders should be MY16 .... surely (if RHD production doesn't begin until Sept) they're not going to be producing MY15 and 16 on the same line at the same time?

Doesn't look like we're getting the Performance Pack at all really - 'All UK cars are fitted with the US Performance Brake Packages as standard'. So what's the Performance Brake Packages exactly?

Whilst you're there ask them to explain the difference in specs between a UK/EU/US Focus.

It has about the same relevance.

Car specs for individual markets are designed around what they believe will sell and the ease of producing them.

If you want a full US spec one, buy one.
