Doesn't look like we're getting the Performance Pack at all really - 'All UK cars are fitted with the US Performance Brake Packages as standard'. So what's the Performance Brake Packages exactly?
The $2,495 US Performance Pack is:

GT Performance Package

Strut tower brace; Larger radiator; Unique chassis tuning; Upsized rear sway bar; Heavy-duty front springs; Gauge Pack featuring oil pressure and vacuum gauges; K-Brace; Brembo 6-piston front brake calipers with larger rotors (manual transmission only); 19" x 9.0" front, 19" x 9.5" rear ebony black painted aluminum wheels; 255/40R19 front and 275/40R19 rear summer only tires; Unique stability control, electric power assisted steering and ABS tuning; 3.73 TORSEN rear axle; Engine turn aluminum instrument panel appliques; Spoiler delete

When I put my order in back at the end of Jan the guy at the dealer said that spec need not be finalised until May '15, at which point the order would be sent through to Flat Rock and placed in the queue. No changes would be possible after the order went to Michigan. That seems to tie in with the change over date to MY16, so with a spot of luck all UK orders should be MY16 .... surely (if RHD production doesn't begin until Sept) they're not going to be producing MY15 and 16 on the same line at the same time?
This is exactly my point, however as always there is conflicting information on this and nothing official from Ford. To me it makes sense that the Q4 2015 cars will be 2016 spec but who bl00dy knows!

Absolutely .... I think I made the mistake of assuming Ford would be applying some 'joined up thinking' to the planning .... on the evidence thus far, what was I thinking?! biggrin

Amendment to my earlier question for your list to Ford; will there be a strut brace and/or K brace? .... cheers ...

Such a shame we're not getting all of that on the UK Mustang frown

Here's a recent post from Mustang6G to add to the discussion on MY 2015 or 2016. Not sure what California Special is (presumably something to do with the different highway/emission regs they have there), recaros we're apparently not getting, but a black roof option would be great with some of the base colours .... if we get the option, of course confused

==========================================================

2016 Mustang Order Banks are visible now (but ordering & pricing isn't available yet). Here's just a couple of tidbits that I don't think we knew about before now....

California Special returns as an option on GT models.
Black painted roof is an option on GT models.
New interior color (leather and Recaros) called "yellow jacket."
Some sort of accent stripes available on GT's.

No, I don't have any details on these items. Yes, I trust somebody will chime in to add to these findings.

If the new MY2016 options were going to be available on the already ordered UK cars, wouldn't it have been better to release the UK options pack when the MY2016 options be came available rather than months before?

The california special is just a special edition mustang with extra exterior and interior add ons, your not missing much if you can't get it in the uk.

As for the recaros my drivers seat is starting to bunch where my ass sits and being outside the main warranty and not being covered by any of fords extended warranties I am left no choice other than take it to a local upholster to be repaired.

Another nugget from Mustang6G and yet another version of what may or may not be happening. An email from the Ford priority team to a UK buyer, fingers crossed it's all true! .....

==============================================================

"Good evening Stuart,

Thank you for your email. I hope you are well.

In answer to the questions in your email, the European vehicles will be fitted with Strut Brace. This increases stiffness of the chassis.

The vehicle will also come with Pony Projection Lights and reverse camera.

When you mention extra gauges, were you referring to the performance package? If so, this is standard on European Mustangs.

The tail lights are not sequential in European vehicles.

I hope this information is what you were looking for.

If there is anything else we can help with, you know where we are.

Kind regards,

Amy Bavington"

Sounds promising, as you say, fingers crossed. Thanks for sharing (although I won't be saying that if you've got our hopes up and they don't deliver smile)

Some of the European guys on that forum have had their build dates for later in April. I suppose it's because they are LHD.

Its a big car, had a 6 series in there recently and thats 73.0 inches wide !!

Thanks in anticipation !

IIRC it's a smidgen smaller than a MK4 Mondeo estate (width AND length), that was what I assume are the US dimensions though.

I would imagine our wing mirrors will add, at most, a couple of inches to the width but assume you can fold them in.

I don't think the Euro mirrors are wider than the US ones, just taller .

Not official. Just what I can tell from pics.

Looks that way but that shot at the top of page says "wider".

Either way I shall be pricing up some US replacements as soon as I get mine (whenever the fk that happens to be!).
