Having just started my journey on the ordering system with the Mustang (15/10/15), it occurred to me that those who are coming to the end of their wait could advise myself (& others) the steps expected from the dealer/factory.

My dealer has stated that my order "will only be accessed when the order has been placed through the Ford system we use, called “Vista” and that "we run the report through Vista every week and I update customers if there is any additional updates on their specific order". Further, "Normally on your order, there wouldn’t be any update until about January 2016".

Would someone be so kind as to find the time to explain these 'updates' throughout the term & what they were etc.? Would be nice to take away some of the mystery?

Thanks

Stig

Tricky post as for those of us who were early adopters, the process has been woeful. Now that RHD production has ramped up, hopefully updates will he regular. But, personally speaking, I placed an order on April '15 anx, due to a dealer 'fail', would not have recieved a car until July '16. Thankfully, a series or emails to Ford got my order back on track so build now due 11th Nov.

If there is any 'process' it appears to differ from order to ordrr. Shameful for a 'halo' car from Ford.

Okay. Well, for what it's worth then, I'll update on this thread any comms that I receive over the months; might be of help to someone.

Step 1 - go ooh at the pictures of a cool car
Step 2 - Give a dealer a bunch of cash as deposit
Step 3 - Sit back for a year or so with almost zero contact from your dealer
Step 4 - Constantly 'pace' Pistonheads for scraps of information
Step 5 - Maybe get a dealer update
Step 6 - deep breath, get told its on the way
Step 7 - .....well no one's experienced step 7 yet so we can't quite tell you what it's like smile

Excellent! Currently sitting at 3 / 4. I, on the other hand, do have the added advantage of reading / seeing posts of all the 1st cars coming in .... any day now?

also join Mustang6g.com.

Loads of info from across the pond, across the Channel and an UK section for those of us still waiting.

Agreed, i joined Mustang6g and have found a lot of useful info throughout my order. You will find useful links to the US Ford ETIS system where you can track your specific build to you order once the order is locked in. One word of warning, the UK "Vista" system is very slow in updating and can be weeks out of tune with what is happening in the States!

Just 2 weeks to go before my delivery, though its been a fair wait since placing the order back in Feb.

All done thanks & correct; loads of info. 2 weeks? The days must be passing so slow! Good luck with it & enjoy!

I would hold off OP, I predict a fair few "cancelled orders" or sold on cars once a few ships have come in. Its been a long wait and for a lot of people their circumstances may have changed.
