There has been a prioritisation of the build of the UCL cars, however this is within the confines of build constraints - i.e. Parts available etc.
Initially we had a constraint on V8 RHD engines, followed by the globe box lid containing the airbag.

We held every vehicle to ensure we were happy with build quality - RHD Mustang has been 50 years in the making, so we have just been rightly paranoid about quality.

Once vehicles are in Europe, and in particular Southampton - they are prioritised for delivery, however you will appreciate that if a load is "built" for one dealer and we can squeeze a Mustang on the truck even though it may not be the oldest vehicle we will place it on the truck.

UCL cars will be separately identified with a dedicated plaque, and the new news is that we are working on an "on track event" possibly on the Silverstone International Circuit for UCL customers - more of that to come

We are prioritising every vehicle that we can

Things are moving quickly - we have shortened build times, and are working on quicker shipping routes

We have now also employed a dedicated person to provide a customer help desk for delivery and information requests.

I hope that helps

Thanks Andy; that's the most helpful response yet. $64,000 question - how do we get hold of the 'customer help desk'.

I was told that once the car has been built it will be 3 months until delivery? Has this been reduced? When are the new shipping routes being used? Good question slowhand

Just wanted to add this.

I can't thank Andy Barrett enough for his help over the new year break.

On a whim I emailed him and asked if he had any spare Race Red Manual GT's with Custom Pack. Expecting a "unless you have pre-ordered you are out of luck reply"

He responded on New Years Day! With a spreadsheet of 9 cars which had been allocated to dealers as demonstrators (I think these were all demo cars but happy to be corrected). I told him I would bob over to People's Liverpool to have a lookie see on Saturday. Unfortunately the car was locked in the compound but I went back yesterday afternoon and spent a good 3 hours there test driving, playing with the car and eventually sorting out the financials! Andy had even pre-warned the dealer that he could sell me his demonstrator if it met my requirements!

So on Thursday I pick up my brand new Race Red Mustang GT and I can't wait!

As I say many many thanks to Andy and many thanks to the staff at People's Bootle (Liverpool) in particular Joanne! I honestly dont think I would have survived the 12 month wait! Thursday cannot come quickly enough now.

I am really pleased for you they are superb cars but it makes me feel sick for my own position where I couldn't have had a crappier Ford experience if I tried.

After ordering in January, getting a build date of October I am now a leper after "No information from the USA" from the sales rep, his boss, the dealers customer experience manager, Ford Twitter, Ford Facebook, Karen Batt and Andy - I offered to change my spec to something available to get a "there are no cars spare" from the dealer (2 days after a poster on here bought one from the same group).

What gets me is the dealer should have known it was "lost" after the build date in October but said nothing except USA is telling us nothing.

I seriously doubt my car has been built

Out of interest what spec were the 9 cars, colours etc?

Indeed, as mentioned before my experience has been the same (from a different dealer in a different part of the country too). January order, all indications were that it was being built in October, then all of a sudden (after prompting the dealer...) it's become a March/April delivery. Etis is still showing a build date of "30.11.0002", and no window sticker yet, so I guess it's not actually built.

It appears cars ordered considerably after January '15 are being given Jan build dates, but still no update on our car. A bit of solid information on what exactly is going on for those of us waiting 12 months after putting a deposit down without even seeing the thing in the flesh would go a long way...

Spec on all the cars on the list were the same, Race Red Manual GT's with custom pack.

I was told the one I have purchased was destined to be a demonstrator and as such was about to be registered, if it's registered then they apparently cannot sell it on for 4 months. which was my main driver to sort a quick deal.

Seems like there is an initial batch of red ones with custom packs, if you want a different colour and without the option pack (if you don't want the chrome) then supply is presumably a bit more limited?

I have a competition orange GT manual coming with all of the individual packs and a black roof, just been advised its on a boat that appears to be leaving the US today and arriving in Zeebrugge on the 18th.

Any idea how long it takes to get it to a dealer and released for sale?

Possibly mainly rag tops but mine is an auto rag top in blue - not many of them coming over I feel.

Kaelic's enquiry was only relating to red custom pack cars as that's what he wanted. 9 to that spec were potentially available at various locations.

It's not realistic to expect Ford to have complete control over things .. what with cancelled orders etc. .. but there are people out there now driving around in their new Mustangs who just happened to take a casual look just a few weeks ago and got lucky with availability. Seems a little bit naughty when people who ordered a whole year ago cannot get firm info on what is happening with their cars ?

Mine is a V8 manual fastback in Ruby Red, with the three options added, so no real similarity.

Mine arrived in Zeebrugge on 8th Dec and then made it to Southampton by the 19th Dec.

It's still in Southampton. Getting really feed off now.

Hmm, I'd be positively over the moon to be in that position tbh - it's pretty much the 12 month delivery time that was always stated after all! Know it's frustrating to be so close though...

According to the window sticker for mine that finally became live today (found by me of course, no update from anyone at Ford...) our car isn't even going to get built until the 12th Jan, so still months away from arriving rolleyes

Hi,

I have a Magnetic Grey V8 RHD Mustang with Shaker Pro and rear parking sensors on order since February 2014. Its 134 th on the waiting list and is due to be built on 11th January 2016, with arrival into the UK early April 2016 (subject to Ford not screwing up again).

It was due with me last month and got delayed, so I lost patience and bought something else. I still have the car on order and happy to consider offers to take it off my hands for a small premium. Message me here if you want to have chat about this car. I believe new orders wont be available until well into 2017 now, so if you cant wait you can have mine!

To unclog the waiting list from speculators or those who don't intend to take their ordered cars it would be a good move for Ford to:

Make the initial deposits non refundable following build confirmation.

To only permit dealers to sell the car to the individual who ordered the car (after all if you had an identical spec car on order since March 2014 then the car should go to the next in the queue for that spec of vehicle)
