Looking for Cancelled 5.0GT AUTO Fastback
Discussion
Hi Andy,
So why have i been kept waiting for so long and why was my October build slot moved to January due to 'production of RHD' cars issues?
My V8 GT order number is 134 and I ordered in March 2014 from Gates of Stevenage.
Then I read that a May 2014 order has been delivered?!
Please advise.

I have similar issue. I ordered December 2014. I assume you mean 2015? try emailing Karen as Andy doesn't tend to respond on here, Karen has been very helpful and has confirmed mine being built Jan 25th (6 months behind schedule). Edit: I meant to add, you'd think that they would be matching outstanding orders with cancelled orders to try and keep customers happy. I know losing one or two orders with a company the size of Ford won't matter at all but social marketing is becoming a significant factor for manufactures and certainly we have a growing number of dissatisfied people.

Unfortunately it's not as easy to match outstanding orders with cancelled orders as it sounds. Customers with outstanding orders are all dealing with a Ford dealer rather than Ford Motor Company.
A customer might have ordered their vehicle from Dealer X who doesn't have any vehicles. Dealer Y on the other hand has a couple of vehicles which were ordered by customers, however the customers have cancelled. So it looks like Dealer Y have the available vehicles. In reality, although the customers cancelled the vehicles Dealer Y knew they would be able to sell them and so didn't cancel the orders with Ford, therefore Ford have no idea the orders have been cancelled and so can't reallocate the vehicle to Dealer X's customer.
With regards to your last comments, I imagine every single customer is important to Ford. And from what I can tell there is actually a growing number of satisfied customers as more and more vehicles are delivered, and Ford (Andy and Karen) continue to try and assist those who don't yet have their vehicles. If I was lucky enough to have ordered a Mustang I certainly wouldn't mind the waiting, knowing what was in store when it arrived!
Chaps I have today been informed that my Jan 2015 order for a GT ragtop is scheduled to be built in February and delivered 10 weeks after - so things are moving.
Why the delay for some and the fast track for others we will never know but as mine is a rag top getting it in spring on the new reg is quite nice really.
oh and if I settled for black then they are available today but it must be blue.

Fair point on the cancelled orders. However, my post stands - Andy doesn't respond to issues directly on here, he posts general updates so anyone chasing is better going direct to Karen or the ford email he posted.Unfortunately it's not as easy to match outstanding orders with cancelled orders as it sounds. I'm happy to wait, I've had many conversations with Karen, my problem has always been lack of information - even Karen has expressed how frustrated she is with lack of updates.

Anyone else looking for a V8 fastback?
I'm still looking for mine - ordered exactly 1 year ago today, currently sitting somewhere on the wrong side of the Atlantic and still a couple of months away from being on my driveway...Sorry, suspect that isn't what you meant though

Ford don't seem to have tried to do that for any of us who have been waiting, guess the dealers are franchises in the main so they wouldn't be able to coordinate anything, and Ford don't want more cancelled orders either... Gassing Station | Mustangs | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
