has anyone else got an issue with the glass angle in the wing mirrors?
the 'end stop' on mine coming in towards the car is just enough but if I go the other way they go out so far i car see sideways rather than backwards, it is almost like the motors are the wrong way round.

defect or design?

the panel spacing and paint finish on my TY is not great BTW look out for runs and drips around headlights and bonnet alignment issues, I have several chips in the paint.

other than that though it's awesome!

Do you have a picture? no nothing about mirrors on Mustangs, but did spend 8 years in the automotive industry working for a company that cut wing mirrors for all types of vehicles.

The reason I ask for a picture is to see if I can work out what material (profile) of the mirror you have installed.

I have the same thing on the passenger side mirror of my GT - it only just angles in far enough for me to see out but will angle out for miles. Driver's side mirror is fine though.

I've viewed it as a loveable little quirk of the car! wobble

One on the quirks eh... Maybe Ford think that bringing something TVR to the Mustang family is a god idea..

Seriously. Most wing mirror actuators are a series of gears and leadscrews, all working to tilt and yaw. I haven't seen a stripped down S550 assembly, but it might be something simple. One of the drive screws are not centered when the mirror is straight, therefore reaching the end of its travel (hitting the stop) early.

There may be an exploded view on the interweb somewhere, but I'd suggest a quiet word with the Ford dealers service manager would be your best bet...

I'll grab a photo later but based on the travel I'd guess it's not hitting the stop early as it goes miles it might be something to take it back and get looked as it's just OK for me but the Mrs can't see.....or maybe I'll insist she doesn't drive it until she is 6ft tall too?

The V8 demo I drove was OK for me, however, it may be worth finding out if Ford changed the mirrors for the UK. Relative angles from the driving seat will be different from LHD to RHD, it may have reached the end of it's design angle adjustment.

That's what it sounds like to me too.

^Was the conclusion we all came to over on 6g.com when this was raised by the early buyers.

It's certainly an issue on all cars, not just some, and, if you really want to annoy your inner OCD monster, fold the mirrors in and check how far each one folds.... biggrin

IThe dealer network is aware of this problem in official comms from Fiord. Its due to mirrors not being converted to RHD until the MY 2017 build cars. Looks like in the rush to get cars flowing to RHD markets this simple change was overlooked. On the upside I would imagine the new ratchet system will be an easy and cheap retrofit to the early cars.
