1996 Chevy Astro Van Day bed

I have just bought a Chevrolet Astro van and was wondering if anyone could help with ideas as to why the electric rear seat goes down but the back of it still stays up? The Seat glides back and forth and the front and middle sections go flat but the rear does not.
Any help would be very appreciated.
