Afternoon

Just thought I'd join the group and say Hi. I ordered a GT500 convertible end of last year in USA, imported it early this year and took delivery 1st of March. Well I love it and enjoying it esp with the recent terrific weather. If some one can advise on how to post a picture or if they want to post on my behalf then I can show my p&j. One question, who are all you guys using for servicing?

Thanks

I use the Mustang Workshop in Fleet, Hampshire - Roy Holmes - although admittedly, mine is not a new gen model. Several other PH'ers also use him on here.

Welcome wavey

Email some piccies to paul.t@ntlworld.com and I'll get them on here tonight. Otherwise, get youself an account (free) with the likes of Photobucket. Upload the pics there then type the following into a post to link the pics. Just remove the spaces after and before the brackets......I've had to put them here for it to work.

You're not wrong matey!

If I carry on at this rate, I'll be able to write a blimmin' book about Mustangs. Well, I'll supply the pictures and LuS1fer can provide the technical details

Hi there

Yes the recent weather is truly fantastic. Nothing more enjoyable then been able to put 500 horses down to the tarmec.

I must admit the GT500 kit sharpens up the convertible's lines. Nice one.

You can also try your local Ford Garage, honest.

Yup. If they can do a V6 Mondeo, they can do a Mustang. Mechanically they're very simple and the service schedules are very similar. I'd expect the Supercharger needs some dedicated attention, though even that isn't likely to need oil changes for a considerable interval.

I know Ford dealers can service mustangs just the thought of them servicing them fills me with fear. That's why people generally don't buy Mondeo's becos of the cr@p service they get.

I prefer the red one but isn't it odd that they didn't widen the stripes to incorporate and hide the bonnet vents. they sort of break up the lines a bit.

They wouldn't break up the lines on a black one

I'd seriously advise you too speak to a Ford main dealer for your car for servicing! they can comunicate with the US dealer that the car came from!

You have got to think about your service mechanical manufactors warranty's on a car like that. its your at best interest to do so for the first 3 to 4 years of ownership.

My father has ordered one the same colour too and going over to the US to pick it up shortly! i thought for a minute this thread was him. but he nows better who to use for services!

Enjoy the car.

Yes maybe so but a Ford Dealer can commuicate with a US dealer to look after the car in the wright way! You could buy a warranty for it like all the far east imports, there loads of them about. as long as theres a cover for the engine and gear.

Theres no way Id buy a new car and not be able to have any kind of warranty.
