Hi, I presently own a 05 GT Auto and considering having a Vortex supercharger fitted. It is estimated I should be able to achieve 425-450 rwbhp, however my concern is will the standard Auto box be strong enough?

At present my car has had a suspension upgrade ( eibach lowered) but the brakes are std so I know I will need to address that.

Does anybody here run a similar setup and should I expect any problems or need to do additional modificatons.

There is a guy on www.uk-srs.co.uk that has one that has been superchargered, itis a manual his name is mr Kippling he has also lowered his and done some other bits. Also on that site is another guy who has change his from manual to auto witha supercharger and other bits, so this might be a good place to try for info of this type. There are alot of guys on there that are well into Mustangs inculding the Editor of American car World i am sure that someone on there will be able to help.

My '05 Auto has a Roush supercharger, estimated at around 420 bhp. Like you, I've got uprated and lowered suspension (H&R).
The auto box copes fine, and suits the power delivery perfectly. I've not driven a standard car, so don't have any reference.
As for brakes, for day-to-day driving, the standard set-up is OK, but heavy use shows up their shortfalls. Baer do a kit which is basically Corvette C5 calipers and bigger discs. Not had chance to try them out, but my old C5 Z06 had the best brakes of any car I've driven, so they should do the job.

The guy I spoke to said he had fitted a Vortex SC giving around 400 rwbhp with the boost set at .5 bar but if I had that increased to .7/.8 bar then I should be able to expect 425-450 rwbhp!

Of course I can only take his word for this as I am not an expert in this field

I was going to go the normal induction/tuner route but then this opportunity came up to have a supercharger fitted I started having a rethink as I just love that whinnnnneee
