great thread
would love to see pics of some of these collections people have just named!
ironically I cant take any pics of my stuff as we're using the gaming room as a storage whilst we get our attic made.
gamecube, megadrive, commodore 64, dreamcast - a snes with about 15 games to come tomorrow and a damaged n64 too - its blue and someone decided to paint red stripes to give it that barcelona's footy top effect.
what I really want is the full spectrum collection - that was my baby growing up - my 48k was the dogs - you can keep your megadrives *LOL*
my wish list would go a nes, master system and the halo xbox 360

While I have a small collection of the retro consoles - Mega Drive (with Master System converter), N64, PS One, PS 2, Xbox, Gamecube, etc. I am more into handhelds. To the point where I own every single handheld console available in the UK, and some that weren't.
- posted with my Bandai Wonderswan.

not bad!!- posted with my Bandai Wonderswan.
i've always wanted to get my hands on a lynx or a gamegear - when I was a kid they looked awesome for the time - never got the appeal for gameboys though. still don't get the zelda/pokemon hype - i've got a few of them lying downstairs which came as a bundle.

If you go for a Game Gear, make sure you get one that's had the capacitors redone, and the sound fixed. Almost all of them will have broken by now. To go all the way, some people mod the backlight to one from a DS or Game Boy Advance SP, which drastically improves the battery life.i've always wanted to get my hands on a lynx or a gamegear - when I was a kid they looked awesome for the time - never got the appeal for gameboys though. still don't get the zelda/pokemon hype - i've got a few of them lying downstairs which came as a bundle.
Game-wise, look to get Sonic 1 & 2 (different to the Mega Drive versions), G-Loc, Lemmings, Olympic Gold and Streets of Rage 2.
On the Lynx, I prefer to play the Lynx 2 to the original, it just feels nicer in the hand. Their USP was that they can be flipped over so the D pad is on the right, supposedly for left handers. Games I'd recommend - California Games (best version of it in my opinion - it is a 16 bit console after all), Hard Drivin' (which is very hard) and Blue Lightning, which is sort of like G-Loc or Afterburner.
I've never been one for RPGs to be honest. I tried to learn Pokemon a couple of years ago, but found it needed far too much time for a handheld game. On my Game Boy (I mainly use a Game Boy Light to play on) I usually play platformers (Super Mario Land 2 is probably one of the best games of all time) and puzzle games like Tetris and Dr. Mario. Honourable mentions for Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle, F1 Race, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fall of The Foot Clan.
P.S. Only joking about the Wonderswan. It could only connect to the internet on Japanese phone networks, with a Japanese browser.

I still have my Lynx 1 and Lynx 2 and original Gameboy. Sold the game gear a few years back as it wasn't being used. The Lynx was awesome back then. Gates of Zendecon, Scrapyard dog, APB, Blue Lightening and of course California games!Game-wise, look to get Sonic 1 & 2 (different to the Mega Drive versions), G-Loc, Lemmings, Olympic Gold and Streets of Rage 2.

Ive got the square bag for storage, the extra battery pack and mains adaptor for them too. Sadly the lynx1 overheats after a while and one of my 2's has a wonky speaker but they still provide more entertainment than my newer sony handheld!
