I've driven it a couple of times in the MX5. Takes a while to get brave enough to take it in 4th not 3rd... and the first time I did it I was 20mph faster into Druids, outbraked myself and stuck it in the gravel hehe

DLC should be up by now but it's not. Delayed in north America for a week too!

Not good.

im back playing gt5 after a few days on fz4. graphics in the set up screens when you choose your car are amazing on forza but when you get out on track it does lose its edge over gt5.

not a big fan of the 'world tour' it just seems to go on and on while they gift you cars to make it as easy as possible, so there is no real challenge or sense of acheivement, I have never taken more than 2 attempts to come first in any race so far, whereas gt5 I remember doing some challenges over and over again to gold them.

hard to compare handling as using a g25 for gt5 and just the controller for fz4, but the cars feel numb and very similar to one another and it is almost impossible to spin a car out of control as you can miraculously save every incident, whereas gt5 you will be wrestling with the steering wheel before it spits you off the track.

not played online yet as I don't think its worth the £35pa xlive fee just to play this.

only changes over fz3 seem to be the kinnect stuff which is utter rubbish, the mode whereby you drive the car with your arms in the air holding an imaginery steering wheel is woeful (braking, gears and throttle done for you), im not sure if it plays a video of yourself afterwards as I never got that far..

I can see how the choice of cars and gloss of fz4 does appeal to some, especially the more casual gamer, but for me the challenge and realism of gt5 is hard to beat.

looking forward to downloading spa tonight!

Spa looks epic when your on it. Just doing a few laps in an nsx type r. Track and details in gt5 are better than f1 2011 game

My fav in GT5 is between Tsukuba and Laguna Seca.
Really want Brands Hatch and Goodwood.
I hate tsukuba, too slow and twisty and too short for my liking, i love the longer tracks like last sarthe and the ring.
Suzuka's my favourite, closely followed by Capering. The ring is amazing but it's like going for a drive in the country.

I think Brands would be great, can you imagine Paddock Hill? It's near enough blind in real life...
I went a few months ago to check it out when there was no one around. It looks alot steeper than you see in games and on TV.
Paddock Hill is easily the best corner I've driven, including the 'Ring, Silverstone, Castle Combe, Kenilworth and Rockingham. It made my Dad car sick after just one 20 minute session as a passenger, and he's a seasoned driver!

Seeing the youtube videos of people rolling cars in the gravel after going a bit wide gives it a certain "edge" too!

I bet the "Corkscrew" at Laguna Seca as well as Eau Rouge at Spa are immense in real life too though.

Played about with shutter speeds and panning last night, and managed to catch my first backfire! I built this car for the 90s JDM Time Trial, and a load of fun to drive. I kept the turbo stock, and focused on breathing and the engine tuning, so it's got the best of both worlds, low down grunt out of the corners, but it revs right up to 8, 8.5k. On Comforts or Sports Hard tyres so you ge tthe best of it by braking early, turning pretty aggressively, then apply power just before the apex to get the nose around. It's nearly as quick as my "heavy" spec Caterham (stock power, 100kg ballast) around Trial Mountain.

oh, the new red bull is noticeably faster on the straights. it'll do 270mph with the aero up on full!!! with standard aero instead of topping out at about 280odd, it'll hit a smidge over 300.

When Clarkson did the TopGear test of the NSX vs GT4 around Laguna Seca he said something like 'you just can't compare the amount of g-forces you and the car can take'.

I put the aero on minimum and it topped out at 297mph on La Sarthe with no chicanes. Can you tune the power up?

was that because of gearing? my X2011 runs at just over 1590bhp, my X2010s are all around 1560something. even my X2010 will top 310 with minimum aero down la sarthe.

I'll have to check the power when I get home, not a gearing issue it was quite a distance from the red line.

Spa is great. Only did 2 laps as I'm WFH but I cant wait to play this online. As the minimum amount you can get is £5 I got the paints as well. I just couldn't bring myself to pay for cars that are already in the game.

Could well be a gearing issue then - your gears are too long if you you hit vMax with plenty of rpms left before the red line. Try reducing the top speed per the gearbox to about 10 mph above your previous top speed.

Why not just ask for £7 from someone?
