If Royal Mail/Amazon don't come through with my order tomorrow, there's going to be some serious trouble...
Snap! I pre-ordered Skyrim too (for PC), but I'm actually busy this weekend so went for the standard delivery. You'll be pleased to know my copy hasn't popped through the letterbox yet!

Out of interest - why buy a physical copy of the game on PC? Surely it's easier to just download it?
Easy: on Steam it's £35, from Amazon it's £27Tempted to swing by Tesco on the way home and pick it up and tell Amazon to get stuffed

My internet connection runs at just under 1Mbps at the best of times. Plus Skyrim was £30 on amazon, I think this was cheaper than Steam.
Finally you get extra crap with the disc copies (some sort of map?)

Not sure why there have been problems with Amazon mine turned up Thursday morning from them, luck of the the draw perhaps?
Yup, guess so.Imagine how unhappy THIS girl would be, if her pre-ordered copy didnt turn up today
You'll need to turn your speakers up to catch the background conversation...

Just had a look in the box (whilst trying/failing to work)... my map seems to be made out of rough canvass paper. Is this the "Special" map someone mentioned a few pages back?
I imagine its what they make badgers arse toilet paper out of
yup map is sort of canvas effect paper.I imagine its what they make badgers arse toilet paper out of
wasnt as absorbent as i'd hoped.
Managed a few hours on it now and it's superb! My only minor gripe is the ingame map makes navigating almost impossible because, unless I'm doing something wrong, you can't see any of the paths or roads? I've got lost a couple of times and had to dig that posh map out of the game box!
ive just got to the woodsmiths bit, had the chat with some bint and some bloke and now i'm stood here wondering what the hell to do next. also, just looked at the world map. am i right that the whole thing can be seen on that map already? i'm struggling to get an idea of the size of the game and number of locations.

I'm about 4 hours in and I'm dying a lot! Just exploring on foot seems mighty treacherous. I'm level 6 and people are just murdering me very easily. Lots of saving and reloading. You can sneak past people a lot more easily than in the previous two games though, which is nice.
It does seem a lot harder than Oblivion, I had the difficulty on Adept and got slaughtered a couple of times, that big spider owned me! I've had to turn the difficulty down The game has a lot more depth than oblivion or atleast on initial play it seems to. Its still feels VERY Eldar Scrolls and is immediately recognisable as the Oblivion follow on. Me and with wife have about 4-8 hours gametime each and hardly have any cross over quests. So far so good.
