I killed a dragon and didn't get a soul from it!

It didn't even disintegrate, it's full body is just lying dead on the mountain.

It happens, you might even find it following you around being dropped on your head, being thrown at you or appearing out of the ground again later.

This is a skeleton one, but it happens with full dead body dragons too - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR2vCbxpCEc

I think thats the interesting part, early on. You have not fleshed out your caracture so they are week and vonerable. You select the perks you strive to max, but early on its just survival.

My original Orc tank buiid is pretty much invincible now. Full armour and all relevent perk trees maxed out. I can walk into a fort and pretty much take everyone out.

Just started my second caracture, she is an archer/assasin. Light armour, bows and daggers. Sneek is going to get some perks but she will be vonerable to melle damage

If anyone (PC) is looking for a challenge making things tougher without losing armour or weapons you could try changing your characters scale.

Opening the console and typing "player.getscale" will give your your height, usually something like 1.10 or similar. Make yourself smaller by typing "player.setscale 0.85" or similar, try a little smaller 0.82 (about 5ft I'd say) it will change your run speed and jump height. You might find it tougher to run away and get a position to attack, unable to outrun a giant or Mammoth.

Be aware if you go the other way and make yourself taller you might get stuck in Falmer huts, you'll have to reduce height to get out.

Current heights
Race Male (base) Female (base)
Altmer: 1.10 1.10
Argonian: 1.01 1.00
Breton: 1.00 0.95
Bosmer: 0.98 1.00
Dunmer: 1.00 1.00
Imperial: 1.00 1.00
Khajiit: 1.00 0.95
Nord: 1.03 1.03
Orc: 1.10 1.10
Redguard: 1.05 1.00

I thought all of the races were the same height, the difference isn't as obvious as it was in Oblivion.

Pic from Skyrim Nexus race height mod, all of these are between 0.95 and 1.08 so you can see what a difference a slight change can make.

Just found out about the spellbreaker shield.

"Spellbreaker is a unique shield both in design and enchantment. When blocking, it produces a Ward-like effect that protects the user from 50 points of magic damage" that will be perfect for my Orc tank as magic is the only thing that really gets to him

The only problem is it's all blingy and made of gold and mother of pearl from what I can make out so it looks naff with an Orc or with my nice matching daedric armour ensemble. Skyrim - fashion counts. smile

PC users can get a mesh & texture replacement for Spellbreaker that looks like a black Blades shield. Never used a shield myself though.

Can’t you just disenchant it and use the enchantment on another shield? That’s going to look st with ebony armour.

I know it is a problem isn't it, I keep going off and making glass armour with carrying and wielding and archery just so my lady looks proper....

I don't think you can disenchant daedric stuff (or unique items full stop as I tried to disenchant a dagger that paralyses and one that has a chance of an instant kill)...

I suppose when I started, I went the one handed route and thought, what do I put in my other hand? A shield just seemed natural, didn’t think about another weapon. It turned out ok, I can kill lowish level opponents with my shield and can power bash more powerful opponents which will injure and stagger them, then I can bring the mace to bear.

Also a running shield charge will knock almost anything down.

I don't really have a lot of finesse, to be honest. I just wade in with my arms (and swords) flailing around randomly and hope for the best. hehe

Well, I used to. I generally take down all my foes with my Ebony Bow of Awesome before they even get near me now. smile

Haven't got much invested in archery, usually just get up close and personal. Got taken out by another Necromancer the other day, reloaded, changed into Theives Guild armour, snuck up behind him and slit his throat. No drama, no big battle just a quiet death.

You can build up archery and sneak at the same time by sneaking and taking out bandits on the walls of forts and standing outside towers when they aren't looking. You can do it as well in caves, sneak in take out a bandit, then rush to cover and wait, despite their mate being killed with an arrow to the head they soon say "must be nothing" and carry on. Once they aren't looking any more repeat. smile
