Yes, that really irritates me. And also did in 'Fallout3' and 'Fallout:New Vegas' too. 'Deus Ex: Human Revolution' was slightly better as all hostiles stay on a high state of alert for a period of time after a kill which is slightly more realistic, but even then they eventually calm down.

Do changing the difficulty settings improve on this?

Not really. They still tend to stand there like lemons despite one of their compatriots twitching through their death throes next to them. You can almost hear them saying "Duhhhhhhhhh"

Note: I'm talking about one-shot kills. If you wound then everyone leaps into action.

Right, so I've just finished updating my PC to a shiny new 2500k, Z77 board and some nice DDR3 RAM, so I thought I'd give Skyrim another blast.
What does everyone suggest as essential mods, I'm assuming a nice UI one, any others I should pick up before I start?

I had one the other day where I got him in the head with my first arrow, then I gave it a bit of time and he was then wandering around asking "did you hear that?", "Is anyone there?" - well, perhaps the young elf who just put an Iron Arrow in your head!!

But I have now started the game again to try a different route.

Which is the best house in skyrim? I use Breezehome but I have run out of draws for my various sections... I want a apocothery and encharnting table plus easy access to a smiths and stores. I have loads of stuff and would like to display more of it, eg suits of armour and weapons.....

Console or PC?

Console - Windhelm house or Solitude house.
PC - loads of new ones, plus extensions to all the thane's houses so you can have everything you need on each one.

You don't realise how much money a wife brings in until you start a new carature. Days of running around doing quests, buying an selling items to end up with 2000 gold (what you started with a few days ago). Do that with a wife and you will have 1-2000 gold waiting for you when you get home.

I am something of a property magnate on the PS3 with four homes. I like the Windhelm one the most but that's because it has three mannequins....... And weapon racks...

How do I get married? I have quite a few people chatting me up (Lesbians, for some reason no blokes have said how pretty I look)......... BUT no idea how to actually get married (in my first game I did give a chap a very, very quick divorce mind...)

You have to get an amutlet from a guy in Riften. Wear it when you chat up a person (you can marry pretty much any regular people in the game regardles of sex). When wearing the amulet they have exttra speech options, Ask them to marry you, you then arrage the ceromony, make sure you attend they will then live in your house and give you 100 gold a day, plus you can trade with them.
