Just been trawling through reviews (as you do in anticipation or at least I do)etc on this, so much work has gone into this game, the music in the background and story line all look like its going to be worth the very long wait.

Bosmer, playing as a Ranger emphasising on sneak/agility/marksman - but sticking to the lawful alignment rather than being some dirty, no-good assassin or thief. I'm not entirely keen on the Elder Scrolls interpretation of the Wood Elf race though, they play them out as being some kind of extremist hippies.
'fred' playing however it comes biggrin

Pre-ordered about 2 months ago from Tesco on PC. £22. Not a bad price.

Embargo isn't been lifted until Friday - I always find that a bit worrying, as you'd feel that as the reviewers have had their copies for over 2 weeks now, and Bethesda were confident about the game, they'd let some reviews out the bag to increase interest.

Tends to be the tactic of the less-confident, to avoid cancelled preorders. Nevertheless, various 'friend of the press' have been posting on forums and using words like amazing/breathtaking/immense/awesome and the essential adjective - 'sick'. Apparently thats a good thing.

I have been thinking the same thing to be honest. I suppose there will be pre-orders based on what fans HOPE to have in the game. A reviewer will give certainty to what is in the game and that could knock a few dreams for six.

I must admit this is the first game I have ever pre-ordered, lets face it there will be plenty of reviews on Amazon and the like and those people waiting rather than pre-ordering will at least have the benefit of making up their own minds from other peoples thoughts on the actual game.

I wouldn't get your hopes up - I had a similar e-mail from them for Dark Souls on the Tuesday and it didn't sodding well turn up until the following Monday. Didn't help that they sent it second class....

(In fairness though, my previous 3 orders from Tesco had all come on the day before release. My point was just that getting a despatch e-mail doesn't alway mean it has actually been despatched, it would seem!)

I cancelled my pre-order and will take advantage of the Game offer of £4.99 when you trade Batman. I've got as far as I'm going to get in Arkham City so may as well save myself £30-ish rather buy Skyrim and leave AC to fester on the shelf. Every penny counts, especially given how much I've spent on new games over the past couple of months!

Hopefully my copy from Game will turn up tomorrow, Forza 4 turned up a day early. No doubt I'll end up playing a Battlemage, that's how my characters usually turn out!

Can anyone with the PC version feedback whether it's broken a la Oblivian / FO3 at release when they get it please? I've held off pre ordering as I don't want to have my enjoyment spoiled by lost saves, broken missions etc. Oblivion should have been one of my all time favourite gaming experiences but it was marred by the issues at release.

Cant wait!! cant decide whether to get on oc ps3 or PC. Realistically do you think i'll be able to run it on medium/high settings with this laptop spec:
W7 64bit
8gb RAM
Nvidia geoforce GT555m
Intel i7 2630 @2.0ghz with boost to 2.9ghz

Would much prefer to get on PC due to the user mods.

i know a desktop would be preferable but i'm at uni so not really an option.

I find owing to the massive ammount of time spent playing oblivion that I would rather play it on the ps3. More comfy on the couch or in bed rather than at a desk or having a laptop on your knees.

Quick Google suggests you should get away with it on Medium settings.

PC version is the choice, if only for the massive amount of mods that will follow.

Mine arrived yesterday for 360, got an hour into it last night. It's good but I didn't feel the "wow" that I'd been hoping for. Feels very much like Oblivion v2 to me - which is no bad thing but I'd kinda hoped for a bigger leap forward. Anyhow, in the meantime if anyone has any questions please ask and I'll see if I can answer.
