W thinking about starting again, but for now ive just ordered a copy of oblivion, it was only a fiver.

Hopefully it isnt so much older that it doesnt feel worth playing.

You might need this - http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/topalltime/?adu... and install the most recommended updates and improvements for the environment and gameplay you like the sound of so that it doesn't disappoint.

Why start again? Lots more to the game than that.

Yes, I know that. Play for more than 10 seconds and you realise that, but having played my way through 100 hours or so, I now know what to do rather than bimbling in the dark (metaphorically and literally)

For instance, this time I'm playing a female character, as there is a perk which benefits women more than men (Alure, in the speech bit) and also I will now have the advantage of knowing which ingredients are useful, and which aren't, which enchantments are good or bad, which smithing perks to go for, etc.

Also the original game bugged that the guy was in permenant sneak...

You just want to be able to marry a big strong man.

In Windhelm, there's a guy works down the chip shop swears he's Elvish.

Really? Must take a decent look at windhelm one day, only ever go there to speak to Ulfric. Hate that bloke really...

Ah, according to this, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Marriage there is only one high elf eligible for marriage. My characters got a choice of lesbian, going interspecies, or spending her life alone...

I have started the most epic quest available in Skyrim.

I intend to discover where all the bloody bottles are made! The place is knee-deep in them yet I've never seen a single glass factory or blower.

Wish me luck!

Now that it's mentioned, yeah, there must be thousands of bottles in the game...

Finally read through the whole thread now as well...

They are very Eco in Skyrim. They reuse all bottles, you can find empties and sell them back. They have no need to make new ones either as they never break smile

Decided to use bound weapons this time, the bow does a huge amount of damage relative to normal weapons in the early stages of the game (24 on a mystic bow compared to 9 on a ancient nord, 11 on a orc, etc, nevermind the extra 24 on the arrow...)

not sure about having to recast every two minutes though, could prove, err, interesting...

Turns out conjure familar summons a ghost wolf...

Nice to see a wolf which won't try to eat me for a change.

Hmm, played for a bit with this way of doing it, and it doesn't work so well without large reserves of magica...

Provides a much better experience to watch though, and levels up conjuring quick at least.

Started my 2nd game of this now. I played 100 hours (ish) the first time and then reinstalled Windows. When I came to apply the Proudspire Manor mod it wouldn't work, I lost a lot of cool armour and weapons so I thought I'd just start again! High Elf this time, I'm trying not to be the stealthy bow shooting character from last time. This time I want to use a bit more magic and crafting, but not a fully blown mage.

I'm going to start a new character very soon, on the past four or five I have played I have used literally no magic at all.

I like to use bows and swords in combat, and potions for healing and effects I need.
