Just working my way through the Witcher 2, and although you cannot create your own character as such, the plot and themes are miles ahead of Skyrim.

This is the intro for the game to give you an idea.

I can recommend playing it in the original Polish with subtitles.
I have The Witcher 1 and 2, recomended by a friend. I just cant get into it. Its not free in any way, at least not at the start. Just too scripted.

So...did an hour last night, game seems stutter every now and then and the draw diastance is nothing like I remember from completing it on the 360!?
paused it to save and the options were all greyed out.
hit "right" on the d-pad for the inventory and it said "autosaving"....so waited for that to finish then turned off.

Turned it back on chose "continue" to carry on and yep you guessed it........started me back at the bit where you choose your character.

FFS I thought PS3 version was fixed!

When I restarted it I set up character again then went through the "follow matey boy" bit until we parted ways and head to Riverwood. Paused it a few times and the options were all selectable this time including "save". So I have all the smithing bits to run through again then head to Whiterun and meet the Jarl to get me back to where I was before.

fingerscrossed it'll all be ok tonight as was very much looking forward to running through this game again on the PS3

Draw distance being low is strange, with my TV PS3 has the best graphics, then my laptop then Xbox 360.

That's what I'd hoped for.
I got to the open fields/plains between Riverwood and whiterun and it looked terrible real low quality compared to how I remember it on 360 with the odd bad looking farm building....headed towards one of the farms then as I got close detail appeared and a giant popped up while he was in the middle of wrecking the crops!!!!

I'm hoping it will run better tonight frown

Do you really need to ask???? hehe

tbh I think the PS3 is on the way out, it is an old 80gb Fatty and froze the night before on GT6 with three bleeps and had to scan/restore on start-up.

Now I think about it has got quiet noisey too while playing, making a chuntering/shunting noises

Well, there is quite a difference in quality between the two.

I grabbed it in the Steam sales, although haven't fired it up yet. Will have to have a look

The prologue with the siege is yes, but that is the sort of training segment. After that it opens although is not as free roaming as skyrim, but then it is a different style of game.

They don't shy away from swearing or nudity that's for sure. For example, Last night I distracted a guard by paying a prostitute to give him some earthly pleasure in the bushes.

And I definitely know what 'kurwa' means in polish now.

Just to put this to bed incase anyone else has the same issues.
Picked up slim set that up, all runs perfect.

Took top off fatty and cleaned it right out, loads of dust and fluff build-up in there.
Put it back together and tested it, ran perfect.
Gave it a proper workout yesterday, all day on GT6, Skyrim and Uncharted....ran perfect without any untoward noises at all.

Going to keep slim and sell fatty

Yo

2 years ago I got about 4 hours in on the Xbox but never really got in to it.

Now a friend at work has given me the Legendary Edition for the PS3. Making a night of it tonight since SWMBO is busy.

Quite excited if I'm honest lol, I guess there's no shame in that. Anyone still playing?

God, yes. You never "finish" playing as such. There's always more to do.

I'm 40 this year. Thank goodness I work in a sector that loves games.
