It's been given a boost with better environmental graphics (god rays etc) but also links now into Bethesda.net for console modding.

Skyrim continues to blow my mind like Fallout 4 can't. I can throw HD textures at Skyrim and despite the memory limits of the 32bit engine it takes them, loads quickly, it displays them, there's not texture load lag with low res for a few seconds unlike Fallout's 64bit engine on which I have removed texture updates to try and make then load immediately and they still don't, perhaps it's in need of another patch update. Fallout 4 load times are so much longer too.

New start in Riverwood, new character. Spent yesterday and tonight reinstalling and then installing new mods, used to have over 200 plugins but I have limited myself to just 133 hehe but with all the new ones around in the last 2 years since I last played there's some great ones to install. Environment, textures, gameplay, dual wielding/carry weapons, animations...loads. Basically started with youtuber Hodilton's installed mods and then added more. biggrin

Need to remove the black bars from the ENB and off I go probably to a quick death because I have all the increased populations, bandit, patrols, increased AI, and Combat realism mods installed.

Heard about that, really looking forward to it.

I wonder if there will be any new content?
Won't bother me that much if not, The Last of Us was awesome on the PS4 soooo I am expecting wonderful things from this....

I hope some new dlc will come out.
Reading on some of the yank sites that the patent for the name redguard has been extended by bethesda.
"The sky" was another patent name held, but that one has lapsed.

It might not mean anything, but with the popularity the game still has, it has a market.

Interesting, it would be nice to see a new DLC.

As the previous poster said I won't be too bothered if not, but I think a full price game should come with a bit extra.

Wow, it's very good so far.

It's Skyrim 2.

Run it on a vanilla Skyrim, doesn't need an ENB the lighting is brilliant.

(non-spoilery image from the very begining)

Only downloaded and done the initial intro up to character creation so far, but looks absolutely beautiful. Install was a lot easier than I was expecting as well which was nice.

Check out the settings on the launcher, I've not touched mine gone with default ultra but there are some good options if you want to try turn things up to 11.

So best to run this with no mods then?

To begin with, some may work some may not but there are sure to be mods for Enderal.

Make a copy of your Skyrim folder call it 'The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim - modded'. Then delete Skyrim local content from steam, and then reinstall. You will have two Skyrim folders in steam now.

eg. something like:
The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim <----- the new installation
The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim - modded

drop the Enderal files into "The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim" and run that. If you want to run your modded Skyrim change the folder names around like this

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim - vanilla
The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim

Make a copy of the Skyrim folder in MyGames as well just in case.

Ps. there are no ugly shadow lines, or grey faces they seem to have got a proper shader built into this.

It already has SkyUI and MCM installed.

Yes but it's easier to swap between the two. I deleted the back up it makes in the Enderal folder. As I didn't know how it handled it all until it was all installed.

I still have some things to try out on Skyrim since I did a reinstall the other week, plus with the remastered version coming that might overwrite the original or might not...anyway disc space is cheap smile

Started it, seems rather epic and graphically looks great (never installed more than a smattering of graphic/texture mods to the vanilla Skyrim)

Also is it just me or does the player character get knocked out/blown up/force choked every 5 minutes while everyone around them dies?

Well thats this weekend sorted then. After nearly 8 months of solid Fallout, I was begining to miss Skyrim as I found it harder and scarier.

Definitely going to give this a go later on, it sounds/looks fantastic.

My current Skyrim game is running just over 100 mods and it's taken a while to get it exactly how I want it, so if I can backup that folder and switch between them that will be awesome.
