WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?!!!!!
At a guess, I'd say ensured you no longer to anything else in your spare time but play Skyrim.....
It is consuming me frown

I played Skyrim loads when it came out and again for a few months when the DLCs were released; absolutely adored it.

So I reinstalled it last week and started playing around with some mods. Holy crap, it is like a whole new game!

Currently running the 2K full texture pack, Immersive armour/weapons/creatures/animations, Climates of Tamriel, Sounds of Skyrim, Immersive Patrols, Extended Blood and Skyrim Flora Overhaul.

I'm blown away by how much the mods improve the graphics; unbelievable for a 5 year old game. The dynamic lighting and boosted textures are up there with current gen AAA games.

The extra weapons and armour have really opened up the game, but I'm finding the Immersice Creatures has made travelling a lot more dangerous and difficult.

I'm trying not to overload the game with mods at the minute, as I have made the fatal error of not using Mod Manager. So if I put too many in, I may struggle to get them to balance or work correctly.

I can see this being my life for the next few months....

I do wish there's a way of identifying if they're aggressive or not before the fight. My build is based on stealth archery and I really need the first couple of shots before I get swarmed in hand to hand fighting. Trouble is I effectively have to assume they're all bad-guys or save before each potential fight, wander up and if they draw weapons then load the save and start the fight.
This is one of my big annoyances at the moment; not being able to distinguish between friend or foe from medium range.

I'm running the same build as you and an inital sneak attack from range is a big difference between me winning and losing a fight.

May do some more delving through Nexus Mod later.

Use mod manager- it will transform your (Skyrim) life!

I'm running just short of 140 mods in total, all downloaded, installed, and organised through mod manager. It's a breeze.

Aside from the mandatory SKY-UI mod (you are running this one aren't you? - gives you PC friendly, sort-able inventories among other things) one mod I would highly recommend is Dance of Death. It lets you customize all of the cinematic 'kill move' settings. Meaning you can even have it set to activate for every kill if you wish. Not to mention you can tweak and remove the restrictions for the perk specific ones too, such as decapitation etc... Makes the game far more cinematic!

Most NPCs and animals have a Warn radius that is larger than their Attack radius. You will get a red dot when they have seen you and you can back off. But some won't.

if you are outdoors, if you are indoors it's a little more difficult as I found out in the highwayman's inn.

If not you can try the Detect Life spell - http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Detect_Life_(Sk...

Is that in Enderal?

I want to use Mod Manager, but unfortunately I made the mistake of installing a few mods via Nexus Mod and then sinking 30 hours into a new game. I really don't want to start from scratch again, so I'm limiting the amount of mods I use to reduce conflicts.

I've got SKY-UI (seems a must for most mods) and SKSE both running.

I don't suppose there is a way I can retro-actively install a mod manager without breaking the game or starting again?

Getting Skyrim Armour mods to work in Enderal that don't appear.

You need to install the armour, then install and open TES5Edit - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859/?

Deselect all the esps in the list that appears (right click menu, 'select none') then select (tick box) your armour mod.

There are two races in Enderal that need the armour edited to work. When TES5edit has finished loading go to the Armor addon section of you mod and click on the first one, on the right hand window pan need to go down to the Additional Races section. You will see two lines that say "<Error: Could not be resolved>" these are the two races that need to be edited.

Right click and select Edit, on the first error line (say ok to the warning). The first one [00013746] needs to be changed to [00033899], as I have done above. The second [00013746] needs to be changed to [00033898].

You will see the lines change automatically, picking up the correct race names from the masterfile.

Do this for all the parts of the armour and then click the close X on TES5Edit it will ask you to save, make sure your ESP is selected then ok and quit.

The Armour will now appear in game.

So, having originally played for many hours on Xbox, I got this on the PC mainly due to Enderal which is downloaded and ready to go. I am not adverse to modding so are there any essentials to have initially? Never used Nexus before but have got the mod manager as well.

PC is a beast so no problems running HD stuff.

Don't install too much too soon without trying them first.
Always check the compatibility section if there is one and be aware of any optional downloads that are needed if you have other mods installed.

Download LOOT, I use Nexus Mod Manager and LOOT can be integrated into it, it will sort the load order of the plugins for maximum compatibility.
LOOT - https://loot.github.io/
Basically anything loading last will have priority over anything loaded early, so some mods don't matter where they go but if they make changes to the worldspace they need to go at the end, LOOT will do this.

Skyrim has a maximum memory for graphics because it's 32bit (the enhanced version which you will get for free as a PC purchaser) is 64bit and won't have that restriction. The restriction means despite having a powerful PC go easy on HD textures, your PC could handle all 4k textures but the game won't if you also have extra mods installed too. You can install a lot, but when you start running mods with many scripts plus 4k textures plus extra buildings or NPCs you can get problems, you can go 2k textures and not really notice any reduction in quality, 4k is a screenshot thing really. Use Skyrim as a test pad and then mod the hell out of Skyrim Enhanced smile

With Enderal, search Nexus for 'Enderal' for mods designed for it, any weapons mods will work, armour mods might need the tweak I have posted above. Enderal uses a lot of game tweaked textures and meshes so keep any HD texture testing to Skyrim.

Tried one of my favourite HD texture mods on Enderal, didn't seem to break it, not everything is changed so it won't drastically slow down your game frame rates. Makes wood look better.

51 hours and I have got to the point in Enderal where there's an on screen warning about decisions effecting the ending, I don't want it to end yet.

Genuinely been great fun, 2 errors (on screen popups) for known bugs, save quit and reload as instructed and the game progresses. Couple of crashes stuck loading screens but only after long play. Character depth, stories, if Skyrim was 3d, Enderal is 4d and Fallout 4 a very flat 2d.

And if you are looking around for anything missed before completing it (or gone back to a pre-decision save) try this map

And if you are wanting to explore everywhere the console command tmm 1,0,0 still works to display all locations on the map with the undiscovered ones in black. Agnod was the last place I found and turned out to be the most difficult at the level I am at. It is linked to a quest if you want to do it that way.

Agnod quest starts at Pahtira's camp (check the map, south section of Goldenforst) - http://en.wiki.sureai.net/Enderal:Apotheosis,_Part...

Map - http://www.knhaze.com/enderal/map.php?m=P

One location you can not find is the cave to the West of Thalgard and north of the cemetary, it doesn't seem to exist. I TCL (no clipping mode) flew around to find it but the marke just moves around me in the location and there is no way up there and it's not on the map above.

Word of warning if you use Nexus Mod Manager and have done the folder rename swap or the Enderal launcher skyrim activation/deactivation (I think it applies to both ways) they have updated NMM first time since May and have screwed about with things again, you may find active mods having a red circle against them. It happened with both the Enderal version and the main Skyrim. I filled around and got the enderal ones green ticked but had to reactivate all the skyrim ones. And if you uninstall anything make sure NMM uninstalls mods properly, it's left things behind with the latest version, folders and even esp files (deactivated) but still there.

You may not have problems, so just a word of warning.

NMM has really been appalling since it went to the virtual install version last year. 0.56.1 the last of the non-virtual install types was perfect.
