Well, rapidly learning what all the fuss is about . Bleary eyed, 02:30 when I turned in, just couldn't pull myself away from the game!
I've no real idea what I'm doing, I'm blundering around all over the place. I lost a good lot of gameplay owing to the game crashing on me, I had picked up too much for me to carry and it all locked up in the inventory screen. In the gameplay I lost I had killed a thief, 3 bandits and a witch , picking up some handy stuff. I had not saved since Dragon Bridge so it through me back there. Live and learn.
Having discovered the map function, and actually finding where I was going, I ended up in Solitude.
Any things I should definitely avoid there, and opposite things it would be best for me to do?
Cheers,

Yes this game is, like Fallout 3 before it, a time vampire. In solitude I'd say go have a chat to the Bard's College - there are some quests there.

It's far more amusing to wear them.
I like the way you think.
In fact, I think they are blind because the Raimant (sp?) Woman was busy telling me how s**e my clothes were despite the minor fact I was wearing the outfit she'd given me!!

When I first started I was a we for money (not literaly) I would pick up everything. Get halfway though a dungeon and have to back out as my companion and I were over encombered. Sell everything then complete the dungeon. I am a lot more selective in what I take now.
I've always looked at weight v price ratio...... Quite often go through an entire dungeon and only pick up a few things (usually the magic weapon at the end and the gold and jewels of course) - leave all the cr***y swords and axes that weight 10 and are worth 18..... I also recently discovered that some potions I make at complete random are worth 300 each! So been making those and trading them for health potions etc... Oh and I found a Paralysis potion too, that was awesome nailing a giant with that and watching him fall.

With the companion you can drop the items and then select 'i need you to do something', then point at the dropped items and they will pick them up even if they are full, like an infinite donkey.
Oh that's quite useful to know. Although probably a little late for me as money doesn't really have much of a meaning when you get to 600,000 septims. Although it might be amusing to make my first million. JonRB said:

How the hell have you got that much money? I'm just over 12k after buying a house in Riften. I do have a chest loaded with jewels though... should really get around to flogging those somewhere JonRB said:

Level 49 and 186 hours of game play I've got about 80 Glass bows worth about 3K each. I can't begin to think how long it would take me to flog them even using the Riverwood trader.
I don't bother selling any more either. But I dump everything I don't use or want into a re spawning chest (in NPC homes, Inns or forts), after 72hrs or so it's gone. I have some I keep for display the rest goes. Makes moving house easier if I get bored where I am currently based.
Or if you have new mod houses like I do, remove the mod, load game and the house and contents are gone, save game, exit and re-activate house

I think I have so much money because I still sell stuff. I seldom bother improving or enchanting it to increase its value now though, because my smithing and enchanting skills are so good now (both 100) that it then makes the item worth more septims than most merchants carry. Also I tend to only pick up high value items now, which would compound the issue if I improved them.

I never have enough stuff, but then I'm far too lazy to click on all the bodies.

If you've not found the Kolskeggr Gold mine in the south east, do so. There's about 50 nuggets to collect, but if you totally clear it out it takes 40 days to regenerate. If you don't and leave some there it only takes 10! I tend to take half and then return to get done when I need it, but as I've got houses in Windhelm, Whiterun, Riften, Markarth and Solitude I don't need much cash anymore,Gassing Station | Video Games | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
