2 ingame days.

You can wait, do something else, or chop wood and sell it to someone also, couple of hours sat pressing the button, I use the wood pile outside the inn in whiterun.
ah right, cheers, always wondered what the woodchopping[i think thats what its called] axe was for, but just didnt know you could actually chop wood with it, what do you do with the wood once its chopped? and where do you chop it from?

You chop wood at a wood pile:

And then you take it to someone who buys it, for 5 gold per piece (independant of speech level/fortify barter stuff)

It is designed to be an easy way for just starting out players to get money.

The Bannered Mare in whiterun has a wood pile outside it, you just spend an in game day or 2 chopping wood, which consists of pressing a button every 10 seconds or so, and then speak to Hsolda inside, who pays for it. (Not from the NPC's main money reserves, so there is no issue with running them out of money. Even if you try to sell 10k's worth at once...)

I think it's great, means I can browse PH and play skyrim at the same time...

It is heavy though, so I suggest picking a pile which is as close to a buyer as possible.

ah right, so you just chop away an it gets put into your inventory, just like mining ore?

then will any NPC take it or is it just certain ones?

im asking too many questions i feel, but need help, not just in game wink

Don't we all friend, don't we all... (need help that is)

Actually, nevermind, you probably haven't got that far yet...

Only a few do. There's a list here:

Thanks
Good info, this is where I'm at...trying to offload all my dragon bones, scales and various valuable items.
Dragon bones and scales can be sold to the potion/ingredients sellers, not just the main merchants, same with mammoth tusks (Although keep one, there is a quest that uses one)

You can make dragon armour with it later on with better smithing which once improved earns a fair bit, and is lighter than Dedric, so it may be a good idea to keep some. (and weapons with dawnguard)

How far through the game are you?
Not much further than before the weekend (I was away visiting family), I'm selling all my hoarded goodies and keep getting sidetracked wandering off hunting deer with the latest Bow.

hehe

I find hunting with a bow on Skyrim quite realistic, I always miss IRL...

Just remember its a real time hour or two to get enough, not an ingame hour. It's a 1000 wood you need.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this looks almost identical to the standard tavern interior.

Edit: Or certainly very similar.

6 stages of build. Front section, hall, east wing tower, west wing armoury, north wing trophy room and cellar but you can have an extra bedroom wing, storage wing etc but only 3 different bits. I can't remember how much of each but it was only clay, wood, quarried stone and glass I needed as I had stores elsewhere of iron, steel, corundum ingots etc and I had a lot of cash to buy other materials from merchants or getting the steward to buy them for me, or even cutting the wood myself.
