I upgraded the other day to premium. Not much to report I got it as im very likely to get all the expansions anyway so i save myself £8. Not a huge sum but i dont need to remember to buy them in the future, which is convenient, and so is the 2 weeks early access.

I keep getting (and accepting a friend request from Foobes) so I suspect something database related is a little broken!
Either that or Foobes is stalking me!

Either that or Foobes is stalking me! I vote for option 2. After some shocking games the last few nights, which have seen my KDR drop from 1.9 to 1.87, I had a good round today. I know KDR is not the most important thing, but yesterday, not a single death was "clean". By that I mean, all were from bullets going round corners, one hit kills after unloading a clip into someone, that sort of thing. Must have had some baddly lagged games. Was really frustrating. Tonight was better, some good tanking, and ground work. Sorry to Arsecakes, as my canister shell must have been annoying I paid the extra for premium, as although I get pissed off with the game, I am a sucker, and would have paid for the rest of the packs regardless. Tanks Forward!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feel like I'm being backed into a corner as , if so many of you are getting premium I will also have to eat my words of two days ago just to be able to play in my own clan server.
Bloody annoying to give more money to people who haven't finished the first game yet but If CQB maps go in the rotation then I shall have no choice.
Still seems shameful to charge £40 to people who bought the "limited edition" which cost me a tenner more, and really what was so special about it ?? Bugger all now thanks to premium.

I know what you mean - my initial reaction was to baulk at paying anything extra - however, when I think about how much I play the game, and for the most part enjoy myself , the cost:time ratio is far better than any other leisure activity I do.

I haven't bought premium, I can't justify it yet (Money wise rather than playability) and won't buy it until I can't join any decent servers anymore
Good games last night with Fabric, Youden, Glade & Russell. I have to admit I have never played rush before, so was all a bit confusing for a while, but it turned out to be a few decent rounds

Whilst I will end up buying all the expansions, that £8 saving is not something that makes me want to stump up £40 right now just to get access to them 2 weeks early, and none of the other 'Premium' benefits interest me. I think I'll likely stick with the cashflow-is-king approach and buy them as and when they are released... Can you tell that I'm an accountant by trade? Knowing what DICE are like it doesn't sit well with me paying it all up front when two of the expansions are 4-10 months away, and have no details yet released... And the only benefit to me is an £8 saving! The 2 weeks early access will likely only amount to about 4 or 5 nights gametime for me, and I'm not sure how busy the new servers will be in that time anyway...

Sounds like the sensible approach sir. I shall probably follow suit. With the cost of a packet of fags all I have to do is lock the wife up for a day and I have near enough made up that cash. I agree with the assessment of Dice and I include EA in that so lets see what is on offer at the time.

My synical hat keeps telling me that EA are keen to get everyone's folding up front for all these expansions as a means of off-setting any future commercial risk that may result from a possible down-turn in quality with each successive pack... All wrapped up as a shiny 'Premium' offer to get the BF3 magpies committed early. Afterall, why would they care if the later expansions (which they are unlikely to have done much on yet) turn out to be half-arsed affairs if 75% of the users have already paid? But then it's not like EA or Dice would pull that kind of stunt is it! I will be buying each one regardless, but I do like a good conspiracy theory!

Seems to work much better with less than 64 players.

Well I succumbed to premium. From Origin India where they have a half price sale using an Indian proxy. Paid around £17 + any transaction fee my bank imposes and I have premium on my account. I was in two minds about it for £40, but for what will probably be around £20 i was most definitely IN! Several others have done it and there's more info on the avforums.com/PC Gaming/battlefield 3 thread. I'm at work so can't link to it on here.
