Bad bits:
1. TDU 1 was a better sim (running all aids off, hardest difficulty, except with automated clutch, same as FM4) nothing like Forza for certain.
2. Only one car is very annoying (unless I missed the garage bit)
3. No difference between on road and off road handling.
4. The mustang and viper were far too forgiving, and the mustang plane cheated at least three times on checkpoints.
5. Ai was carp. (assuming they were Ai)
6. All the pink isn't good.
Good bits:
1. nice graphics, better than FM4s.
2. Not that much of the music stuff, although the announcer has a annoying voice.
3. umm... I'm struggling.
TBH, it's put me off really. I wanted to like it...

Having played it for a couple of hours I have to say I'm very disappointed, even with all the assists turned off I thought the handling was very arcadey, I was hoping for 'Dirt' or 'McCrae' style handling on the off road race, expecting flicks and things, but found it was mainly flat out, brake, flat out and cornered on rails.
As said before the FM4 demo wasn't much cop but the game turned out to be brilliant, just wish that T10 had given us a little more of what to expect in this demo than they have. Still not convinced enough that I'm going to part with £60 or even £40.

Not been into racers on the Xbox since Forza 3 in 2009. What are wheel options like now? Are the cheaper Fantec's (200 euros) worth a go?
I'm selling mine if your interested? Really enjoying the game. I can live with the handling. Can you imagine the handling f you spun every time you hit the grass? Ha! Some people want too much IMO.
Have people found more than 11 barriers to bash down? I'm guessing just 1 car to drive about?
It was enjoyable enough, but I think the problem is that it doesn't really know what it wants to be, those who like sim handling and lap times won't find much to keep them involved, others who prefer an immediate arcade hit and excitement will be better served by the new need for speed game. This is in limbo between the two and doesn't really hit either spot.

I agree, if you accept it for what it is then I think it has promise. Everyone would just end up hating it if it was just like Forza 4 as it would be too difficult. My opinion: I like it overall. I dislike the off road stuff, the road racing is great and the handling in simulation is very good if a little dumbed down. However if I fancied fancied a 30 minute blast and this was next to Forza 4, I'd choose F4 every time. Also the music isn't my favourite and I took an instant dislike the the American voiceover women. Still this is only a demo, I'm not sold though.
Absolutely love it.
I play no assists at all and it's brilliant. Very similar to FM4 from what I can tell. Certainly doesn't come across arcade like.
Superb soundtrack, love the bright lairy menus.
It's no race sim but it does what it has set out to do brilliantly. Can't wait for release.
This coming from someone that is comfortably in the top 1% on Forza 4 by the way - just to say I'm not usually into my arcade style racers.

Yup. It's brilliant! Just spent nearly an hour trying to beat all cypherP's times succeededI play no assists at all and it's brilliant. Very similar to FM4 from what I can tell. Certainly doesn't come across arcade like.

I'm playing through it at the mo - spent a lot of time messing about in the Evo in freeroam, just done the Mustang race. No assists, using the wheel in manual mode and the handling feels pretty similar to Forza 4. A bit more grip, less punishing collisions with scenery (i.e. if you clip a wall with the back of your car it won't whip you around to face the wall as easily).
Really enjoying it so far. I even like the music.

Good man! I have to admit that despite my dislike for the concept initially, I was surprised by it. I like the new take on the game and it feels quite refreshing for a Forza title. I could play FM4 when I'm feeling some serious racing and this when I just want to drive and enjoy it.I'll give it another go later in the week and smash your times Graham

I kinda enjoyed it, but less than I was hoping. The FoV certainly feels a lot less - pulling out of junctions is quite pot luck
The handling felt soft with all assists off, but then I've never really liked any of those cars in FM4, so it's hard to tell. The Evo felt too grippy, and the mustang way more forgiving. The moment I get in the Exige and run it around the place is when I'll know if I feel at home or not
