If I remember rightly, everything is unlocked when you complete the game, but it is quite likely that I am wrong!

For the record, this structure is something else that we've already identified as a bad design decision. Future releases of Carma will not prevent you from replaying 'old' events.

This stuff is a lot easier with 15 years of hindsight, I can tell you!
That does ring a vague bell, thanking you sir.

PS - We're now at $245k, i.e. 61% of the way there with 21 days to go. I really hope the target it reached smile

Great news to hear you are planning another Carmageddon. Carmageddon II was an amazing game, especially when run with a 3Dfx card the graphics where ground breaking. Good luck with the project and I will be making a contribution.

How feasible would it be to port the original version Carmageddon II onto the iPad like has been done with GTA 3? Might be a quick way of raisng some cash. I know GTA3 has done very well which and I assume it didn't cost much to release as the game was already written. People love a bit of retro gaming especially on the iPad.

I would like to see Carmageddon 1 & 2 ported on to the PS3/Vita.
I was playing Carmageddon 1 earlier on my PC. still love the physics.

It's a reasonable idea on the re-release of the old games, however:
i) Would it take sales away from the new game?
ii) Can the developers spare the time to port the games at the moment?
iii) Would the other platforms (PS market place and Xbox Live Arcade) take the games on? (Content etc)

I reckon that putting a version of C1 and C2 out via Steam would be a reasonable idea, as I've got a CD of C2 which I've managed to get running on Win 7 (see earlier in the thread for how), so I guess the tools are there. Albeit the Carama guys will want to make it run more stabily than some of the "workarounds" for Win7!

But I reckon they may be on this in the background, because the FAQ on the kickstarter page does mention this and says "watch this space" or words to that effect.

That is a sodding genius idea! Carmageddon would go down a storm on the I-Phone if it could run it!

Noes!
Don't unlock all att he end, destroys the replayability factor - you should still have to get each car induvidually on merit.

Also, why not a tony hawk esque transfer / gaps list, as a set of bonuses? As a student, we wasted hours just to get the message "entire game complete" - at which point we ventured back into the sun...

+1. If the iphone/ipad can run gta 3, then it should run c1 & c2 seeing as they were released 4-5 years prior.

A big +1 to porting 1 and 2 to iPad - that would be beyond awesome!

Pledged $25.

Loved Carma 1 & 2 and the splat pack. Was the first driving game that understood what we wanted to do, ie. drive the wrong way and act like a complete muppets. Had the Limited edition boxset with t-shirt etc, best bit in there was a car window sticker that said:

'So Many Pedestrians, So Little Time...'

Need to find that sticker!

Oh My GOD! I spent so freaking long playing C2 and listening to Korn and totally not revising for my GCSEs. I know I never got rid of it, but I can't find it at the moment. So much want!

Hey Batwick, count me in !! The number of hours which turned in to days which turned in to months playing Carmageddon is unthinkable, still got the original discs but need a win 95 something or other to play them. Does my memory serve me correctly in thinking that once upon a time you used to be at that farm on the right hand side just after Betty Haunt Lane when heading towards Freshwater ?

If you check out the official forum there's plenty of support to get the oldies going again on modern machines.

Also, check out the step by step guide I wrote earlier on this thread... it will let you run Carmagddon 2 on a Win 7 machine. smile
