You need to try and connect to them, will get auto kicked but with a code.

On right side there is HOW TO JOIN
Click that and enter code. You're good to go. Only trouble is it's normally full at 60/60 until 10-15mins before and after restarts (seem to be every 3 hours).
O'h and they up'ed the ping kick to about 500 I think for the Aussies.

spawned in yesterday evening. pickup gone already (no suprise) so headed down south and killed about 7-8 players. Got some hefty abuse along the way for killing new spawns but sod em. They don't stop when i tell them to over voice chat so i just shoot em so their leg breaks and they either bleed out or i just laugh over chat and HS them
Finally found an easy to get on this hard corps server I've been on about late last night.

In a nutshell their mod on top of Dayz is basically an ultra hard mode for the game. You're locked to 1st person view now, it includes the ACE mod so windage and bullet drop all count. There are tons of extras, skins from doctors outfits to loads of civvy and military clothes. Loads of weapons, I've already had 2 different pistols and currently have an M4 with M320 & an M27IAR. You can carry one rifle on your shoulder and another in your hands too, the whole inventory system is slightly different. Food and water are both very very sparse so water bottles are a must when found as are hunting tools.
The biggest thing is the fatigue system though, weight matters, as does how far you can run when loaded up. You really have to think about what you carry and how far you'll move in one go.
No night vision, no L85's.
They've really put alot on time into this, alot of things have new icons when they're loot. Makarov mags for example look like makarov mags and not a green pouch.
It's not all made harder tough, there are loads more vehicles, including different types - LAV & different choppers also loads more loot spots, and car parts are very easy to come by.
It's a bit different to the AWA server but I think I'll definitely be putting roots down on there so if anyone fancies joining me I'll post up the details of how to install etc.

You do have to persist with the awa server, it can take a while to get in unless its very late/early.
Cool well you'll need to register on the survival ops forum. Then follow their install instructions for the hard corps server. It's probably easiest to do the full install, then there is another file In the download page called 'launchsomcz' or something like that. Download that too and put it in the OA folder. Use that to execute making site you have the latest beta patch installed. Then just search for survival ops within arma. The password is shown on the hard corps page on survival ops. I should be on in the day tomorrow. I'm just moving north from cherno at the minute with enough gear to hunt from the land and a pistol and AR.
