DayZ: Arma 2 Zombie Apocalypse Mod

Don't take in ARMA 2 - it's around 2 years old now. Spec it to wipe its arse with BF3 or something of similar age.

Spawned on the beach near Balota. Snuck into town on my belly, grabbed some ammo and some cans/tins of food... alas, no guns yet. Decided to head into the hills to the north, aggroed a zombie, ran halfway to Bor in the process of losing said zombie.

It's not elegant or stealthy but being chased by a zombie with no way to defend yourself takes hours off your journey time!

Not sure if I should carry on into Bor for water, then hit the deer stands near there, or go down to the water pump by the road in between Bor and Kamenka and get the 3 deers stands to the west of that...

Sod the zombies, how many people are usually near Bor?

i7 good spec o/c to at least 4.5ghz, 16gb ram, a GTX 680 and the games running off a SSD.

God this game looks too good, and its very annoying that I don't have a decent gaming pc to play it on!

Keep posting any interesting ewetube videos you come across. Its interesting to watch how people play and how they manage the game.

Damn it PH, I was perfectly happy without a Zombie Apocalypse game a week ago. Now I have DayZ.

It is brilliant


PS. It went something like this... Spawned in the middle of no where, found a town, got overrun by zombies, die. Spawned in middle of no where, found a town, explored hospital, fell off roof, died. Spawned right by a town, found pistol, rifle and pasta, happy!

Well this was a welcome surprise for the morning. Logged onto uk25 home server at 00:35hrs ingame time. Admin joins 10 mins later and reboots the server to about 0600hrs so it's daylight. I head back to our campsite straight after to find all our vehicles bar a truck and hilux gone along with all the items in the tents....

I'm smelling some bs by the server admins

Just to add i have been slotted trying to salvage one of our hilux's to a makeshift camp by someone camping the existing base. Jacob i managed to load up the v3s with a few things and a tent and have set up a temp location until you guys get back on.

Got to Bor, filled up on water, found a double-barrelled shotgun and some slugs so now in theory I'm not completely helpless, and then ran into the woods again to go hunting for some deer stands. The clouds are moving slowly though so I have no idea which way I left Bor, but I think I'm headed in the right kinda direction...

Successful little trip, though. Haven't seen a living soul yet despite being on a full-to-the-brim UK25.

Could of picked you up in a nippy off roader but after the camps ransacking all that is left is a tent, v3s flatbed truck and a bus with 1 burst tyre which i limped into the woods this afternoon just for the lulz.

I ran through the woods in crouched run... went west... think I overdid it. I found the sea and I have no idea where the frig I went to do that! I thought I was much further from the sea than I was. Retracing my steps a bit until I find a road then I'll shadow it until I see something I recognise. Whoops!

What a night... found my way down to the coast, started heading east, aggroed some Z near Balota, didn't apply a bandage properly until I got to 3.5k blood and was like "huh why am I still bleeding?", but of course by then it was like trying to look through a bathroom window. Aggroed another Z a bit later, ran blindly up a hill in zigzags then put a shotgun slug vaguely in the direction of the moving-fuzzy-blob... made my way to a fairly quite Balota airfield where I waited for someone (on mumble) to come give me some blood, a guy came over asking for a bandage but he wouldn't stop running (long enough for my buddy to apply a bandage, or for me to raid his backpack) so my buddy shot him in the back because he was just gonna attract Z the way he was going. Then I aggroed some more Z anyway, resulting in a broken leg. Luckily the guy we just killed had morphine (and some other basic essentials like a knife, some mags). Then we ran out of there 'cuz it was getting a bit hot, some guy with an axe was chasing us. He DC'd when I shot him, the tt.

Then this morning I nipped to Balota military camp while the servers were quiet and grabbed an AK74-SU and a PDW and some bandages... just need a box of matches and I'm good to survive for a while.

This game is definitely better played not-solo!

I seem to be stuck in limbo... There are no zombies and I can't kill myself no matter how hard I try.

Any idea on how to restart your character? I've tried 'respwan' in-game but once I come in and out of the game and load everything up I am back to where I started... in limbo.

Are you invisible in third person? It sounds like the 'debug forest' (or maybe 'debug plains'). If you google that you'll find loads of info

It's similar but I'm actually in a city (not sure which one) but there are no zombies at all, just me. Will have to try reinstalling the files or something! Thanks for your help though.
