Do note no OS is included I don't know if you have win 7 or 8 already if not you can get a legit copy off ebay for about £50 for win 7 or win 8 for £75 although win7 seems to be the flavour for gamers atm but win 8 would be more future proof as the next direct x will probably be win 8 only.
Overpoch is really good. I restarted on EU6 as I couldn't always get on EU2 when its busy and all the players were pretty hostile. I made a few friends by picking people up from the coast in helis and cars and now I have a bit of a crew together and we are building a really cool base. It makes our old tent city on Dayz look pretty crap.
The game itself is way more fun. We have had some crazy battles and been flying around in Ospreys and various helis and armed vehicles.
This evening has been such a laugh. A couple of days ago we bought a 50cal armed humvee and shot up a few people then got killed by a clan on the server. Today we found their base and blew up all their vehicles and successfully managed to blame someone else completely for doing it.
Just as I was about to log out tonight we spotted three guys on quads checking out a house near our base. Two drove off and I managed to snipe the guy left behind. His mates came back and got shot as well and were threatening all sorts but obviously had no idea who killed them all.

I will start trying to record some of this game because its absolutely crazy.
Last night we had a Blackhawk and a Super Huey in base and then we found two more Super Hueys so we fuelled them all up with our tanker. Four of us got in as pilots an we buzzed over the south coast prompting comments like "omg its Apocolypse Now". Another group threatened to get their armed humvee out to shoot us all down, which it will do quite easily. We dumped one of the Hueys and the Blackhawk and armed two helis and headed back to the coast to look for the Humvee.
We found them near Komorovo on the coast road and started circling and strafing him. He took a few shots at us but soon ran out of ammo. We killed one of them so they drove to the warehouse to hide from us. As we didn't have much ammo in our heli two of us landed it on the hill overlooking the warehouse and tried to shoot them with our DMRs while the second heli went back for more ammo. They realised we didn't have heli back up so they got back in the humvee and headed up the hill to us. One got out and they managed to run me over but my buddy shot two of them.
Someone else stole the chopper we landed in then got shot down by our second heli on its way back. Luckily I respawned right there on the coast so I ran up the hill with just my hatchet and managed to hatchet a guy looking for all the bodies. I took his gun and shot and broke the legs of another guy up there.

I haven't had too much time on the mod, but one top tip is to all ways pick up the silenced ammo. It still makes the noise but won't aggro the zombies near you.
I had a good hour a few nights ago, just getting used to having a map and figured out it shows the heli crashes, so I go on a 7km trek to try to get some high end loot and 2 b
ds shot me. I did kinda provoke the situation by trying to flank them and get the jump on them but they were obviously used to the game.

Already today we have blasted 20+ AI on missions. We bought an armed Humvee and got into a gunfight with another player who I killed. We then got shot by someone else who heard it all. I also found this and went flying for a while before I sold it to buy the blackhawk.
I have done my time running around everywhere in Dayz. Overpoch has loads to do.
Miss playing Day Z. Had some truly funny moments on it! How is it nowadays with regards to people teleporting to you or thunderdoming etc?
If you haven't already then you should have a crack at the Island life mod for it. Never has winding up power tripping yanks playing as coppers been so entertaining!
Oh and seeing the odd santa's sleigh complete with rudolf and co flying overhead to the merry christmas tune dropping parcel bombs and levelling the town was comical

i've personally not experienced any hackers. Clearly they are about but having put many, many hours into it it seems few and far between.
I tried altis life but found it incredibly boring.
Whats the best way to make money on overpoch? I might head up to Devils castle, please dont shoot me. I'll put my guns away.

I've not played the mod since around April now, but regarding the hacking it seemed to be getting a lot less common by that point. I started playing the game early in 2012 and I remember there being an explosion of hackers as soon as the British school summer holidays started (I imagine it was similar timings for other nations too). Having servers wrecked was happening a lot, with people spawning in huge numbers of ships, explosions, aeroplanes, whatever, and it would just grind the game to a halt.
All the teleporting, spawning in good kit, being invisible, all sorts was going on, although it started to die down early 2013 IIRC. As that year progressed we could find servers to play on that had no issues, to the point that hacking (at least from what I saw) was barely happening if at all by the time I last played it earlier this year.
I'm tempted to try calling my friends up again and getting back into it, we played it almost daily for the best part of two years, but we all just moved on to other things several months ago. I miss the base building of Epoch, raiding, adrenaline fuelled moments of terror as you were being stalked; its one of the few games that really drew me in.
