I've had a go on and off as the patches come out and been following Sacriel's stream a fair bit to see how things are going in the game. Currently have a regular and hardcore character near Zelenogorsk but haven't really played too much with them.

Gave it a short go the other night to try it with the latest patch (removing reverse mouse acceleration) and it's much nicer now than it was!

At the moment - yeah no storage. When I was playing a few months back I ended up on a server that seemed stable and, quite importantly, not mobbed. I'm fully bombed up now to the point that I don't even want to get into a risky situation. I'd much rather buddy up with someone.

Yeah, I feel like it really limits the gameplay, once you're full up it means two things, firstly you stay put because you are scared to lose it and secondly you're full, so why bother looking for more loot?

From what I read in the dev blog it looks as though tents are to be looked into soon.

I will be home tomorrow afternoon (GMT) and I'll get the game patched up so if you fancy a game then let me know, same goes for anyone else who is interested, I'll edit this post shortly with the team speak info.

Team speak : 902288.ts3.mpgs.co
I do not think there is a password, can't get on a PC until tomorrow.

It is, but I despise Steam so only run it when necessary, Dayz will be a few patches behind.

Playing on a hardcore server at the moment, takes a little getting used to with the first person but I am enjoying it so far, currently sitting at the NEAF waiting for a server restart so I can grab some goodies.

ETA: Fell of a fking roof in Kranostav and died.

Been playing a lot more recently.

One things for sure, 99% of people on the servers are bastids and will shoot you even if you're putting hands up etc which is a shame.

I'm quite n00b still, me and four mates got ambushed by three guys, shot and all our gear stolen. It seems the North East and South are the worst places.

The NWAF is awesome for gear and a long trek so less people don't seem to do it. Be VERY careful there though, so many places to hide.... wink

I have been trying to play for a hour and half a night during the week. Longest life so far will be around about the 4 hour mark.

Managed to get reasonably tooled up one night and headed for the NWAF and some bd shot me on sight. A few nights ago, again reasonably tooled up heading to one of the places with the high rise flats, even had a set of binos and some bd zombie 2 punched me and dead again.

Still not killed a player though.

It's good fun, I need to get teamed up with folk though, only problem I see is when you get good gear their is fk all to do, I never played the ARMA 2 mod but I watched alot of videos on youtube about it and it doesn't seem to have captured the same feeling.

I play on a standalone server most nights with between 3-7 others depending who is on. Playing as a group is much more fun, especially when you run into a group of similar size! There is also far less chance of dying, your gear can be protected after you die and if it is lost, gearing up is easier too.

We tend to be very wary of fresh spawns, as they are the most unpredictable players. They have no/minimal gear and have absolutely nothing to lose, so quite often will try to attack. I have lost count of the number of times I have tried to help a new spawn only to be stabbed, axed or knocked out, I've almost given up. If they do attempt anything silly, we try to break their legs and leave them to spend the rest of that life crawling.

We like helping others when we can, but sometimes the decision to help can end up being costly.

You are right, lots of people KoS, especially in the high traffic areas of Berzino, NEAF and NWAF. Electro use to be the same before they changed all the spawns. Generally if you meet somebody outside a high traffic area, they tend to be more friendly.

A little tip, occasionally you will see blue, 4 wheeled, wagons/trailers, they are never attached to anything. They spawn weapons. SKS, Mosin, shotguns, axes etc. They don't always spawn weapons, but they are a decent place to look as most people aren't aware to look under them.

Anybody still frequent the mod or SA?

I fancy playing again but need some support. smile

I was browsing some Epochs the other day and found a server with a new mod that actually has a bank at safe zones to store gold and gear, seems like a good idea.

I have subscribed to Frankieonpcin1080p on youtube so have seen the full evolution of the mods, I think they have started to take it a bit too far imo

I loved Epoch, but there are so many variations I gave up looking for one I liked.

There was one server, I think we played on it together, but the admins got upset and wiped the database and claimed it was an accident, so I left there.

Well it seems SA has gone the way of the mod absolutely infested with cheaters/hackers

Had this happen to me the other day.

http://youtu.be/A-3qzZrtJaQ?t=2m20s

Lots of others reporting ramdomly disappearing items.

A real shame I'm out for now got spintires to tide me for a while and when I'm bored of that war game frown

Chaps, I want to get into arma. Used to be a PC gamer and sunk many hours in operation flashpoint.

Do i need to spend hundreds and hundreds to get a PC that'll run it? As I've gone to the dark side and been a console man for the past 8 years....

How easy is arma to get into? I've watched tonnes of Frankie's videos and it looks uber complicated!

Depends on the resolution and settings you want to play on. You can spend unlimited money on a PC so you need a budget.

I'm in the same boat I bought an XB1 and keep wanting to just sell up and buy a super PC but I do still prefer my shooters with controllers, although you can use them on PC it puts you at a big disadvantage so its pointless.

I have a below average PC and run Dayz and Arma 2 on low settings and still have fun, but you are far better off with full res and high settings.

Ok,

So I want to spend the least amount possible to run it at a decent standard. I haven't been into pcs for years so have no idea on specs these days. I already have a monitor, keyboard and decent mouse.

Seems a bit crazy to spend crazy amounts just to play one game. Having already spent out money on an XB1 last year.
