Cheers for your assistance last night Derek. Helped out a lot. Will have to get to low down on building bases but atleast I can make a start on getting some money now.

Well... That's if I ever get back to civilization!
You need a ton of money to build proper bases, the first one I took you too probably cost around 2 million. Devils Castle will probably be even more expensive once complete. You might be better to start by blocking off a barn somewhere. I just had a safe under a pine tree for quite a while.

The gun is a Silenced Cheytac and is fairly rare although I think we have 5 or 6 now at Devils Castle with plenty of ammo for it. I think we have something like 12 Lapuas there as well. We also have an M107 which we took from an AI on a mission which we think is extremely rare.

There are some really gullible people playing this game. I have been sat in devils castle asking for lifts and promising to team up with people and offering money for a lift and they are actually stupid enough to fly up here so I can shoot at them.

Hey Derek,

Good news on the base! How do I work out how to sell things? You said I need to be a 'hero'?

So I need to do missions basically? Then how does it work? So I drive a vehicle near to the trader and the get out and just walk up to the trader? Similar to selling weapons?

Randomly too, I found an M25 camo, I couldn't find anywhere to sell? It wasn't with the normal army trader, went to the black market trader and he only had the desert version?

I currently have an M100 DMR, good gun?

I miss Chenarus now I've been on Arma 3.

Think I might have a go at this. Really enjoyed it when we had our 'gang'.

We all seem to be populating the CCG EU6 server... If you do fancy a crack at it!

The CCG downloader is the easiest way to get the mod working too!

I'll look into it smile

Is there a TS server being used or just in-game comms?

Ok - cheers.

Am I right in thinking this is run from Arma 2 Combined Ops, with the separate DayZ mod and an additional Epoch mod: Not from the new(ish) standalone DayZ?

Most traders will have two people buying/selling weapons, one just does a limited range of guns and the other sells all the good stuff. You can buy food, meds, clothes, packs, vehicles and parts as well. The big traders have a safezone around them and the little ones which move every restart don't. You quickly learn which weapons are worth picking up to sell, most russian stuff is not worth picking up.

You can buy and sell vehicles at the Bandit and Hero traders but if you want to buy armed helis etc its half price if you are a hero. So I have gone the hero route. To become a hero you need more than 5000 humanity, so either kill a LOT of zombies or preferably kill ai on missions.

Missions can be extremely dangerous but quite fun. The ai has aimbot hacks so you want to be sniping them from cover from 600M+ away ideally. The biggest danger is all the other players that might go to the missions, some will camp them just to kill other players once they have killed the ai. You can make up to 300,000 credits from the right missions. We tend to only do them if the server is quiet. The Killboard can be quite a handy tool http://customcombatgaming.com/forums/index.php?/pa... If you see people getting killed you can see if they were Killed by another player or not which can tell you if people are doing the missions sometimes.

If you can't sell the gun and don't want it just dump it on the floor somewhere. I only pick up weapons now that I want to keep, I make way more money from selling armed vehicles at the hero trader.

Hi James, I have a TS server that I am using for our group but you are welcome to join. Add me on steam I think you can do it from "imccormack" and I will give you the details. I loved dayz back in the day but this is way more fun, you would like it I reckon. The server will kick high pings though. I usually see 300ms+ players getting kicked.

Overpoch is Dayz mod not standalone customcombatgamings launcher will do everything you need.

I'll be on tonight around 9, could you run me through the actual process of selling cars/chopped later?

Sure, if you haven't connected to another TS server since mine it should still have the details. Otherwise I will message you with them again.

Its actually fairly straight forward, unarmed cars and trucks are bought and sold at the 4 main traders and vehicle traders.

Unarmed planes are bought and sold at aircraft traders which move and the static one at NEAF. The only unarmed aircraft worth selling is the Osprey which is worth 218000 at the NEAF. Don't bother buying one though as they aren't much good.

Armed vehicles including jeeps, helis and planes are bought and sold at the Bandit and Hero trader but obviously you need to be either a bandit or hero to use them. Its half the price to buy stuff from the Hero trader though. If you get a high humanity from missions you can still shoot people and be a hero ;-)

You can get some odd armed vehicles from missions that can't be sold and they despawn after 24 hours.

OK - I'm re-installing Arma 2:Op Arrowhead from Steam.

Derek, do you have a direct link to the downloader to mentioned before?

I should be OK with ping - are the servers passworded?

ETA - this the one you're on about? http://customcombatgaming.com/forums/index.php?/to...

That looks right. If you try and join a server it will download Overwatch and Epoch which are nearly 4gb from memory. No passwords.

Devils Castle is under attack now all the time. Its great fun and what we hoped would happen once we started building.

The night before last a few guys chainsawed their way in and caused a little damage and stole some building supplies. They tried again last night and got shot down in their heli which they weren't happy about. They came back a second time and got killed again. Then they brought M203 grenades as the blast radius can kill even inside a building. They damaged some vehicles and killed one of our guys.

This afternoon I spotted aggro in the courtyard and we saw a player running from the castle. We gunned him down and it looks like he logged in from the previous nights attack right next to the castle. Just now they came back in two biplanes to strafe us and drop grenades on us. Tiwaz and I shot one down and damaged the second before it strafed the tower and killed Tiwaz. It left trailing lots of smoke.

ETA - Tried to log into a server first thing to test - lots of errors, will try again to set up this evening. (somethings never seem to change...)

I'll be on again when I get home.

I'll have to grab my suv at some point, I think it's blue 87b0 or something similar.

I need to do some general running about to get some money and then when I'm geared up I can come back and help a bit more rather than being a bit of a hindrance! Felt a right lemon sat up there.... Up until the point I got my head taken off!!!

If I didn't keep my head down I've no doubt I would have had it blown off too...
