Could we seriously consider focusing on just three flags?

Three flags will win it for you and it's a lot easier with 4 full squads. A is very much out in the open so let them have it? Squad each for the other flags and a roaming squad helping out?

If we could achieve that it might be a lot easier to pin them down there, snipers, mines SOFLAM etc?

Possible or not?

I think it's definitely possible, although I think it'd only work when they start on the carrier. Blitzkrieg B via jet and squad spawn, one squad following with armour, the other two taking C & D, picking up jihad jeeps and armour on the way. C Squad can leave as it's bloody hard to sneak from A to C, so can help out at B. Leave them to take A, but covered fully so they can't break out. Javelin plus fully loaded tank (with guided shells and smoke) to target and kill the tank at A plus any pesky jeeps.

Just been playing a big ticket match on Oman. Took a while but eventually the oppo scored all four flags and had every bit of armour on the beach. There was no breaking that stranglehold.

When we start on the carrier (US?) I think a jet to D, followed by squad spawning to take the flag/APC is the best start. Squads to hit C as quickly as possible, with soflam/jav to take out the enemy armour.

One squad holding A/B, and three holding the enemy at bay between C & D could be the ticket. Never seen a team get pinned there, but it's gotta be possible, there's a large open expanse as a killing ground.

Okay, think that’s a fair point, wasn't sure if you meant 3 or 4 squads in the end, but how about this an alternative:

Squad B
Fussyfez
Pexy
Allaloneatron
Snafu (assume you will grab tank and roam)

Squad C
Ossandy
MiniMan64
Sa20v
Insider

Squad D
TheHangingJudge
Xtraboost (On Oman are you happy going high with a spawn beacon and soflam? On Seine if I call first dibs on the tank, engineer with repair and proximity?)
no_fck_n_way
Sway

Reluctatant to give up on A altogether (they may have done the same) so can the guys on B try to grab it if the opportunity arises (hence the inclusion of Snafu to get the tank) and I’ll have a go too in the LAV. But there are definate merits in trying to get them to just spawn in one place + the their own spawn.

I seem to be good around B in Oman, so happy with that. A Soflam and a LMG with a bipod and extended mags should keep A fairly honest if we are not holding it. Snafu and I were in a game last night where they only had A for a while. They seem to be stuck there for quite some time. I got plenty of kills with an LMG set up accross the beach.

The only issue was the attack chopper. So if thats kept away, Miniman's plan could be a worker.

Take it that the tank at A does not count as a steelable vehicle. I'm up for takeing it as much as possible to stop other side useing it. No mention on air assets if a free for all and if no one else using can i just use any of our air assets against other side when respawnig. No much good in air but can annoy till have to bail out. Then back to steel/annoy tank at A.

Can't join the game, but with the talk of defending against pilots I thought I'd point out for those who hadn't tried it recently that the Stinger/Iglam thing is very effective since the patch - one hit will disable the attack heli/jet and it reloads quicker than the target can refresh their counter measures, so they either have to kill you, bugger off out of sight or be disabled.

Thats all sounds good to me.

Youngsyr - agreed, shame we don't have your Soflam skills for this one, definitely missed them on the last match.

I found the soflam to be pretty useless since the patch - too many people run smoke and with the ability for enemy guided missiles to lock directly onto your soflam, it never tends to last too long before being destroyed. frown

Pretty much the only way to take out land vehicles as a foot soldier now is C4 or mines as the RPGs are pretty harmless too. frown

I've always found RPGs/Rockets a bit cack to be honest, I rarely use Engineer for anti-vehicle these days, only for stingers and repair tools. C4 is far more effective.

It's got to the point now where as an engineer, I'll equip the stinger and try to take out tanks with the repair tool. It can often lead to you being able to nick the tank too if the driver bails to try to take you out 1 on 1.

What's really frustrating is hitting an open top jeep with an RPG, only for the driver to jump up and drop you with his gun before you can switch to yours. An RPG hit on a jeep should kill anyone on board.

I haven't used the noob tube for a while but that was a one hit kill on jeeps when I used it. So an RPG really should knock them the fk out.

Right then, I'm to support judge in apc, and hold D.

Thinking of running engy, shall I run jav or stinger?

Assuming no_way will be running as support with c4?!

Also what perk do people want me to run, and repair or mines?

Judge - fancy being squad D's el Capitan?

Oh, and seeing as the best heli boys are in the spec ops squad, I've been practicing my attack chopper skills, so happy to take pilot with a gunner if no one else wants.

9 innit?

I'd vaguely concerned now that we're going to follow my tactics! Eek. It was only after thinking of last game where the opposition entrenched at one flag, let us come on to them and then hit us on the counter. Lets try and keep it flexible in case it all goes tittes up.

Id say for Seine what we used Metro would work well again? Three holding squading, one roaming hit squad?
