Im tempted to get this, how well does it play with a 360 pad? I have a G27 but this looks more like a sit back and enjoy kinda game. I played the demo ages ago but don't really remember it that well.

Don't think there is official wheel support yet, but it may well work as a generic controller I suppose.

It works great with the XBox controller though, I bought one specifically to play this and wouldn't consider trying my wheel. I reckon that it likely would be worse an experience given the pace of the game and how you end up having to steer.

Depending on how they fix the camera, a wheel could be great or it could be awful.

Currently though, I use an xbox controller and while it works great, you need a constant thumb on the camera control stick to make it bearable.

Gave up on coastal I just cannot find a route across the river; the obvious route will lots of tracks is too deep for even the big logging truck.

Switched to plains and making good progress. Looks like the default mission order isn't graded very well.
Mighty obvious question but are you in AWD with your diff locks on?
I had this too, crossing at the really obvious crossing (the double ford more or less in the middle of the map)
I cannot get through the first part and onto the island in the middle, even with the logging truck, I even dropped the trailer and still couldn't climb the bank, with AWD and DL on. Although this is before I realised you can put big wheels on it paperbag
Haven't tried it with the big wheels, ended up going a different route and found the really big truck (the names are all different and I forgot what it's called ok? Type D or something???) then had to send myself to bed eventually, didn't even manage a single delivery. Spending 20 minutes stuck in the beach in the little "jeepy thing" didn't help. Just very slowly shuffled back and forth, using it as a plough, before I got close enough to winch onto a tree. It took me a while to realise you can switch to vehicles on the map, rather than having to be close to them hehe.

I have to say it's harder than I was expecting from the demo.

Does Alt+Tabbing out of the screen and back again still work for keep the throttle open?

I caved in and made my first Steam purchase last night, left it to download overnight, and had a quick go this morning with my Weetabix. And promptly got stuck, wedged against two trees at the bottom of a steep incline. Too far away for the front winch to help, and at the wrong angle for the rear. This could take a while…

This game is refreshingly challenging but not in an annoying scripted-sudden-appearance-of-bad-guy way.

Monday night I dropped my logging trailer in that deep ford on Coast, logs spilled out and everything (and despite dropping the trailer I still couldn't get the truck out!), last night I went out there with the orange truck with crane fitted and tried to crane things out only to over reach and roll it in rofl
Had to get the Type-E with tow-truck attachment and pull it out, then used that to tow the trailer out but had to use the orange one, very close to the edge, teetering on the bank, then braced to the E with a winch, to crane the logs out. It was nerve racking, expecting it to tip in at any moment. Not sure yet if I can reload the logs and deliver them? No doubt for reduced points, as they're a bit wet now and some got washed away..

All that was after pulling the 4-unit garage trailer to the middle garage, which can only be pulled with a C (or B?), but had to use the D to actually pull it through the muddy bits. Phew.

I've been having lots of fun with this. The crane is very amusing, I've been playing with it loading trucks full of rocks but haven't found anything useful to do with it yet. If I've learned anything so far it's to stay close to some trees where possible so you have winching points available but never venture into the forest or you shall be wedged between trees for an eternity. Also trucks are much more top heavy and prone to tipping over when loaded (shockingly).

Well been having fun this evening carrying out a rescue op

Although I didn't expect it to be so boggy...

very boggy..

Think I might be here for a while since the tanker is full of fuel.

I got bogged down badly there too, ended up abandoning and rescuing back to the garage.
Last night, I managed to get to the first lumber pickup, but I took the long way around (across the top and down the eastern side) and ran out of fuel about 80m from the drop off. Destroying the tanker within 20m of the lumber truck didn't help my mood either!

Completed Coast yesterday, took the best part of three hours, which included much faffing about - but I enjoyed it which is the main thing.

The latest patch notes stated that the wheels going under the ground has been fixed, and, thankfully, the camera issue is due to be fixed in the next week or so.

I've only managed a single load of lumber so far. By the time I'd got the Kamaz to the fuel depot and across to the stranded Kraz, my GT6 updates had completed…

Really enjoying this game.

Now that I've got MotionJoy to use my PS3 controller it's much better then trying to use the keyboard.

I almost mastered River on hardcore by myself, delivering two loads of long logs and uncloaking all but one where i got a bit stuck and ended running out of fuel. It would have been easier as a multiplayer game but every time i do one of them everyone seems to leave after 20 mins or so which is hardly enough time to unlock everything let alone deliver some logs.

I'm Mr Oversteer on steam if anyone fancies a multiplayer game where someone won't quit smile

I got this the other day, it is great fun, on normal mode it is a bit easy though, I've done volcano and coast, its time consuming but if you go out in the jeep to unlock all the cloaked areas it makes planning the route much easier.

How do you pick things up with the crane? I can move it but haven't figured out the controls fully

I've only completed the Plains map on casual, trying to decloak the Coast map now in the baby UAZ so I can avoid headbutting the forstry quite so much.

You press the crane grab button.. I think it's 4 when in advanced mode, but all you can grab really is logs, when you get it close to a log you'll see red dots, when you've got it positioned correctly they go green, then you grab them. (You can try grabbing rocks but I'm not sure where you'd put em, unless you've got the tipper mod but even then there's no objective really..)

I'll have to try this MotionJoy, when steaming down a highway in 3rd or 4th, keyboard steering can be a bit iffy.
Had a good go on River (always hardcore) last night with some randoms where we did most of it in just over an hour, just one garage and one truck we didn't unlock, this despite one of them rolling his B into a deep part of the river and the ensuing rescue operation (rescue operations are fun smile).

It's useful for moving rocks out of the way on tracks you use frequently. Also, if you need to move a medium logging trailer that's rolled, you can fix it with the crane.

Hopefully the next big update will include support for wheels such the the G25 and an in-cab view. I know both have been mentioned.

I'd heard this and tried to grab rocks but doesn't seem to work for me.
