Right. I'm fairly sure this has been done before, but I've wanted to give it a try for a while, and I did want to run my own championship as well, so I thought I would give this a bash. Going to be a very championship sort of inspired by the BTCC, as I grew up on and bloody loved the early 90's stuff. It's what got me into Motorsport. Rules wise, I'm thinking of running a qualifying, and then a race of an as yet undecided distance. Damage off, but tyres and fuel on, so when you stop for your mandatory pit stop, you actually change tyres. Regulations, something like a PI limit of maybe 550 for rwd and 560 for fwd, with 545 for 4wd. No drivetrain or engine swaps, no aero and you must run oz superturismo rims as they look bangin'. I'm no curry becclestone , I just want to run a good close champ, so any ideas/ input will be appreciated. As it stands now: RWD CARS 560PI, EVERYTHING ELSE 565Doesnt have to be spot on, but not over. No Adjustable aero.Any tyres with Oz superturismo. No engine/drivetrain swaps. I'd rather you kept stock aspiration too.Anything else is pretty much fine. I would prefer a race paint, BTCC replicas would be chuffing great but whatever you want really. Not going to do points for fastest lap, as good as it would be it would be really difficult to do as someone could set a fast dirty lap because they are being drafted but then it wouldn't count and so on. You will still get a point for leading a full lap. One pit stop at least Can make as many as you want but has to be before the last lap. Damage is limited but there is no aero to ruin your race when it falls off. ABS will be allowed, but TCS & STM will be offRaces will be around 25/30 minutes, however many laps are needed for that. [

Cool.
I'm happy to change anything really, as long as the racing is close we could have PI whatever.
Also, I was thinking points could be dished for finishing like usual, but also a point for fastest lap? And a point for for leading a lap? That happened didn't it?

You will need to run damage on in order to change tyres rather than just driving through. Also try a go with Drag tyres. They wear quicker and add an element of strategy to the race as you have to be careful with them. No spinning the wheels up madly!

And drag tyres could be a very good idea indeed, should introduce some wear and whe you pit will have more of an impact. Thanks very much.

Crackin idea, count me in.
It all sounds good to me, drag tyres are a good idea and affect the handling quite a bit as well.
If you're going early 90's can the Merc 190E and the E30 M3 be included as well?

Brilliant shout with the drag tyres. Just did 7 laps of mugello full, and ended up with about 40% wear.
Really starts to be noticeable after 4ish laps.
Suggests a good 15 lap race. However not sure what the wear is like on front or all wheel drive.

Question: Can we scrap the no aero rule? The 155 looks so much nicer with aero

The RWD's will suffer from a rather loose back end and a discipline of very smooth out of corner exit or it will step out or fishtail. The FWD are the reverse. You have to be very careful going into a corner or it will just understeer off into the kitty litter.

I'm in, will be driving something sporting a BMW badge.. And another +1 for no Forza adjustable aero ETA: Williams how old are you? Early 90s BTCC is my bread and butter stuff too, one of my heroes is Steve Soper for the way he commanded his 318is in 1992, awesome driving... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILyx5vINAjY
