IIRC there was a thing called "The Can" which was solid. Great game. If only I had a better PC than a 133, it ran a little slowly at times!

Yeah, makes you chuckle with the machines we had then.
I was using a P2 300mhz with 256 meg of ram.
Someone had 512meg ram and his game loaded about 15 secs faster than anyone else playing.

it was 2.5p a minute i recall.
i was a great sniper in qwtf and then everyone started to get ISDN and I started to get destroyed rather quickly.
i got in so much trouble for the phone bills i'd rack up.

I sometimes used to play online using Microsoft's server ...Zone.
Much preferred Wireplay though as not so many Yank kid's who pulled the plug if they were going to lose.

TA was a great game. I never played it online but was a member of Wireplay, which then becamse Gameplay.com at the height of the .com frenzy, and then gradually faded away. It was an excellent platform they had but perhaps a little ahead of its time.

Probably the best RTS ever. I used to think i was pretty good back in the day until i went online and got my arse handed to me. The tactics that worked for the single player campaigns were useless when it came to playing against humans.

Still got my original copy.
Anyone going to set up a server for nostalgic multiplayer?
I tried it once, and as mentioned above, found my posterior presented to me in no uncertain terms. Must have been cheating, no way he racked up that many units that fast.
