150% accuracy on snap shots and 255 time units helped a lot too. wink
Not as much as a large supply of radio controlled flying nukes.

Can you tell I liked the blaster launcher?

I completed the original a looong time ago on Playstation, still got the game and see they are going for strong money on Ebay! Recently played after getting all the X-Com games for a few quid on Steam.

Very excited about this!

To the original you mean? If so, then I'm not really in a great position to as it was only one level after the tutorial one plus a tiny bit in the base. There's far more detailed stuff already written by guys who have played it, and first impressions suggest they are correct.

I think the demo is on fairly easy difficulty so didn't give a true sense of what it could be like as I got my guys through the level with no deaths. That sense of walking your guys through a level, trying to use cover, then spotting aliens, it's really quite tense. There was a moment I'm doing everything right then two floaters appear, and because of the height advantage they could see my whole squad and I crapped it. Thankfully they missed and I was able to take them out on the next turn. It was sectoids, floaters and thin men I was fighting.

Cheers, that sounds great. So happy they have kept all the original races in although I will probably regret that when the Mutons turn up.

Really excited about playing this now.

Mutons I can deal with. It's the bd crysilids that are nightmare spiders.

Pre- ordered on xbox , apparently I get a blonde flat top grunt as part of the elite soldier pack. Watched a few vids and really looking forward to some turn based action.

Oh and in the vid I saw (alien base) crysilids will be a right pita again!

I may be late to the party but has anyone on Apple products purchased Aliens Vs Humans?

It actually is Enemy Unknown the original, it has the same graphics and time units and everything!
And now updated with full geoscape, multiple bases and research trees. Very nice indeed and worth the couple of quid.

Done the pre download last night, think that's the biggest single download I've seen for a game at 12 gig or something. Still, roll on Thursday, can't wait smile

Excited about this, haven't bought a game for a while, this will be the first of many this 'season'. I've also got so much work taking up all my time (so much time I won't be able to play the demo) until 3pm on Friday. At which point I will be visiting game and playing this for many hours.

I was (and still am) a fan of X-Com Apocalypse - the real time one.

If this is any good, it might catalyse me to finally get a new PC.
