Visiting friends and being visited by friends was just a bonus, most of the tokens came from doing ALL the number 1 tasks every day giving you 1,000pd. The last one worth 400 was the hardest to achieve and most valuable. Get those done and you'd have been well on your way to getting all the prizes. I just passed 18,000 & I do visit friends most days and do the tasks.
Just hit the 35000 stonecutter emblems mark - a day after the event was due to finish but turning off auto-updates in the app store allowed me to keep playing. Is there anything new in the update (I already have the July 4th minor updates)? Tempted to hold off updating a bit longer to go for the bonus prize.

A few new buildings to build, but task wise they seem to repeating last years tasks with Lincoln and Rex Banner. MissChief said:

Yep,plus a number of the recent new friend requests don't seem to be so diligent regarding visiting now that the stonecutter thing has finished. Even though they are still playing. Going to be monitoring and if no visits then will be unfriended.

To be honest I tone down my visits between the updates as there is little point, and with 60 friends it would take me the best part of 30-40 mins to go through each for not much reward. Busy during the specials, quiet inbetween - it's always been like that. plus a number of the recent new friend requests don't seem to be so diligent regarding visiting now that the stonecutter thing has finished. Even though they are still playing. Going to be monitoring and if no visits then will be unfriended.
