Haven't played it since February (not since the 1.1 update) still opening it up and updating it but playing it, no.

I haven't touched it for a month or so and I'm not really missing it. I'd probably go back if they implemented some proper multiplayer or planet-side stuff but until then it looks to be more of the same. Community goals and powerplay are just rehashes of the same boring and broken trading and mission systems. The game clearly wasn't finished when it was released, and I reckon they only had a few months to fix it before people got bored, but they didn't and now people are giving up.

I've been playing a bit of Cities Skylines and Dungeons 2 instead, and I'm currently redownloading SC alpha for another look at that.

I'm on the way back from Sagittarius A (still 18,000 Ly out) and I've been away from the inhabited systems since mid March though I've missed a couple of weeks gameplay and not playing every day I'm slowing working my way back. As I'm scanning everything worth scanning plus the odd diversion it's taking me about 1-3 hours to do 1,000 Ly depending on how many objects there are worth investigating on my route.

Hopefully I'll make a good amount of profit when I get back but I'm looking forward to the revamped missions, whether much will have changed or not I'm thinking I'll just lose interest again fairly quickly.

Can only recommend this! Pricey but still £30 lower than I paid. Excellent stick for this game. No need for a keyboard at all and you can exploit 'flight assist off' and focus mode to their full. Useful in combat!

Well after a 6 week hiatus from playing due to our house move (never again...) myself and a mate had a go at forming a wing last night. He's brand new just grinding credits so he's trading whilst I play escort. In short it was awesome fun, partly I think because I've had a break and partly due playing in a wing and the added depth it creates. Several things we learned though, TeamSpeak is better than the in-game voice comms which were laggy and prone to breakup, flying in formation takes a bit of discipline from the lead and co-op fighting is superb.

I also noticed a lot more Cmdrs flying about than last time, granted we were in Federation space but it seemed alot busier than I remembered from before.

Steam keys are now available.

Go to the online store, login and select "partner keys" on the left hand side of the dashboard. The log into steam. Not done it yet myself.

What do people think of powerplay then?
It's really added to the game IMO. A lot more going on all of a sudden, and it feels a lot bigger if that makes sense?
Been running a blockade to deliver to a system which is in expansion but contested. CMDR wings keep interdicting me, which annoyingly I can't seem to beat, but so far my Cobra has been fast enough to outrun everything and get back into supercruise. Currently debating getting a viper just for these runs, but it's handy being able to drag some cargo along as well. The trouble is, I keep getting distracted by other stuff on the way.

I agree, it has changed things for the better. I have some reading up to do as I was grinding out kills in a 'crime sweep'. Not entirely sure what this will do for me but then it's only been two evenings with the new update.

Going to a contested system certainly brings the online players together. Gets interesting for sure! I've never been attacked so much or had so many wing requests. People chat to you much more as well. There are a few random/wierdo players to. One guy flying around preaching to every sod to join xyzs faction blah blah blah. So sorely tempted to hit him with triple plasma!

It has freshened things up a bit which the game sorely needed. Will stick with this and see where it leads.

I'm not really interested at the moment in Powerplay as I'm not really drawn to committing to any of the choices. To be honest I think powerplay should have stayed in Beta for at least another week or two due to some of the issues at the moment. The ship spawns are broken (often all NPC are rated mostly harmless) which has hurt the combat roles as having to reset the instance multiple times for RES and combat zones just to get correct spawns (not always guaranteed to work either) has been a game breaker for me.

Without being completely negative though I do like the new missions and the better AI is good to see but I'm waiting now until more of the issues have been resolved before getting back into the game properly.

The Xbox 1 version has gone live on the marketplace as part of the new Early Access programme - £24.99, or you can play a free trial for an hour.

OK I've caved in and bought this thanks to the offer and I'm installing now. I wish the download speed wouldn't waver from around 1MB/s to 3MB/s in brief flashes. Bought directly from Frontier expecting a better download speed as I'm sure the steam servers are getting hammered.

Do PH have a Wing setup?

Picked this up in the Steam sale after having my eye on it for a while...

Any guides to get off to the quickest start as a total unknown to the world of Elite Dangerous?

Use this - http://www.elitetradingtool.co.uk/

Get your current location, find trades/trade calculator you can buy/sell within a short distance and do the same for a return journey.

Find a good quick route, check the bulletin boards for good money simple jobs along the same routes, or if you are picking up from somewhere else check what they are buying there so you can trade in and return with the job goods.

Remove shield generator and discovery scanner, you can double the cargo space of a sidewinder easily.

I'm sure there's more too. I haven't played it since March.

Need help, just started on XB1 and I have a important data to deliver, it tell me what system but not much else, what should I look for when I get into the correct system? Navy points? Signals? I went to 1st nav point in the system where the bounty was to find an Eagle just sitting there on idle, is this part of my mission? Can't seem to work out how to communicate?

Your data to deliver will be marked with a system and then a station. When you FSD into the system check the list on the left menu and you should see the station you need to deliver to. You can also check the Transaction menu to double check where you need to go.

I got stuck in deep space with no fuel so ended up self destructing. I don't think a Hauler is the best for transport and trading, it's just not big enough. I'll stick with my Sidey, maybe get an Eagle later.

For data delivery you need to dock at a station in the system and check the bulletin board to hand in (should be first item at the top of the board). Not sure about powerplay missions, may be on the contact menu for them.
