I am using http://www.amazon.co.uk/ThrustMaster-2960706-Thrus...

Feel very solid, for quick access keys (right handed) I use the buttons on the left but the buttons on the right you almost have to take hand off to use so I use non-crucial button but I am getting so used to them it doesnt make that much of a problem.

I didnt see this one! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thrustmaster-T-Flight-Hota... not a clue whats like to play but good reviews!

Also didnt have enough money for X51 or the Warthog (alot of streamer use this one), just make sure you have a twist function on the joystick its a must in my opinion.

edit no idea how many buttons you really need big prob with rift n keyboard.

I bought an X55 for Elite Dangerous and so far it ticks all the boxes.
There seem to be a lot of problems with this 1.0.4 release but I trust them to sort it out.

Just download this myself, brings back memories of my Acorn Electron. The original Elite was great, this version really brings it up to date. Need to buy a new controller though, coping (just) with cheapy joystick & keyboard. Where is Lave though? LOL

You can find Lave on the galaxy map, it is there, you just can't get there in the beta. smile

They put in all of the little cluster of stars where you started in elite and called it the old worlds.....

bloody hell, blast from the past. Wonder if you can still drop out into wychspace (IIRC), who was it you found there?

I am just doing the Fish & Agri run between Aulin & Chango to get my cash pot up, need a hauler then you can make decent cash, only getting 2500 a run with a 4t payload. Think docking computer may be first to speed up the process

HO MUCH!!! may need to wait until my mancave/office/garage is built so I can hide one from the missus, X52 seems more sensible money

Dont do docking computer! it uses a zx81 to compute the docking process! mostly its 50-50 to die or dock!

thanks for the tip! have seen a few odd docking manouvers so may explain it. Although I just lined up on a station and hit the engine boost instead of comms to dock button, wiped out on the closed port, doh.

I actually ordered it last night. But why I'd want to pay £50 for the unfinished version escapes me.

Did a similar thing myself. On my X52 the button for boost and reverse are next to each other on the throttle and I use the Rift headset when playing so can't really see it anyway, lined up on the landing pad in the station, went forward a little too much, just hit reverse so i can nudge it gently backwards.. BOOM... WHOOSH.. aww fk!

So, do I buy a 4th 27" monitor to play it in a 2x2 monitor config, i.e. 3840x2160 ? (Assuming the game is ever actually released that is).

I'd wait for the consumer Oculus Rift, free head look is a massive advantage in dog fighting.

Damn. Anyone any idea how much this is likely to cost? I'm currently trying to justify the LG 34" ultra-wide 1440p screen but the idea of a curved screen appeals greatly.

The curved screens do look good, but I wonder about the cost ? Also, Oculus Rift would be an option, but it seems like one of the those never ending, always in development products to me (a bit like Elite !).

The thing is, I've already got 3 27" monitors so it's only £180 for another one, plus around £70-£100 for a 4 monitor clamp stand thingy.
