Wow that looks impressive.
I really need to get back into this. I bought it during the Steam Sale and spent a very little bit of time on it but decided it needed too much time investment and a joystick to do it justice. I shelved it for play later and never got around to it. It's looking a lot more complete now though so time to purchase that HOTAS and get stuck in I think.

Perhaps I'm a little drunk but that vid didn't actually show a ship being transferred did it?Edited by FourWheelDrift on Saturday 20th August 17:56

You request it and then it takes a little while to arrive. Probably carried as cargo by a larger ship or flown by courier who will probably stop on the way and take his bh for a slammin' time around Barnards Star, max the ship out in hyperdrive and sticking two fingers up at the law, hand brake turning it around a moon or two before delivering it later next week.No seriously, watch the stored ship section, it has 0 ships, he transfers 1 and it appears in stored ships. It's instant. He then does it again to have 2 stored ships at that port. A sidewinder and an Imperial Eagle are transported from other stations to the one he is at.
I'm more interested in the stuff in the background teasing the aliens in the games with the binary messages in the live streams.

Confession time. For the last 20 hours or so, I've been in a viper.
All of the threads on the Internet talk about speed, great side thrusters and a superior dogfighter.
I've be struggling with a ship that feels a bit lardy, if quick on boost. I presumed I just sucked a bit at the old piloting.
This morning I noticed it's a viper mark iv. The fatter slower sibling.

Last night I played while drunk and bought a Python. I swore I would wait until I had the funds to A-Rate it but all sense left me. I can't equip it yet, down to a couple of million credits, so I've just garaged it and gone back to my Asp Explorer but it's still a good feeling to finally have a "big" ship.
I've been playing 18 months and don't get hung up on grinding for the next ship, I just try to enjoy the experience so it may be a long time before she comes into commission. Going to have to haunt the Coriolis site now and work out how to make it super mean.

Same here. I recently bought a Python and didn't have the money to go crazy so I have kitted it for exploration and headed off into the black. With the amount of time I can play it'll probably take me months to get to Sag A and back. Feels better going in a big comfy ship though I've been playing 18 months and don't get hung up on grinding for the next ship, I just try to enjoy the experience so it may be a long time before she comes into commission. Decided to pick this up once more after a couple of friends have also taken the plunge. Starting from absolute scratch, I'm running data here and there in my Sidewinder. Looking to make the quickest progress I can here - how should I be proceeding? I've found a guide on Reddit but this is from last year and feels like it might be a touch outdated.

Like you, I've been running stuff around. Occasionally dying due to various pieces of idiocy. Make sure you buy a docking computer as soon as possible. It's a lot easier to dock than on the very original game, but it makes life much quicker.
I upgraded to an Adder as soon as possible, then upgraded the guns, shields, power... Now doing runs earning 60k
Have made some pretty good progress. Upgraded my Viper MkIII for HazRES bounty hunting and made a few million off that. Seemed like a much quicker route for progression than starting by trading, considering the relative lack of kit and resources available to me. I'm now running a trade loop which is netting me close to 2m cr/hr.
Looking forward to the changes for 2.2, but well into this loop at the minute and maximising it while I can.
