Planetside 2, anyone going to be playing?
Discussion
As a veteran of PS1 I've been on-board since early beta.
It's gone from bloody ropey, to not bad and now seems OK for the launch on the 20th.
Still gots its little bugs etc but it's leaps and bounds ahead of the first game and I loved that simply because of the scale of the thing...
I think it's going to be free to play too, with the usual paid for upgrades to weapons etc, or do the same via XP points.
If you've never heard of it, I do suggest giving it a try, it can be a little tough to get into as the combat is spread over such a huge area and sometimes the battles just get all a bit bogged down.

I got in to the beta a while ago and just got round to downloading it a couple of days ago.
Haven't really got in to it yet and whenever I get to battle I just die probably due to the last
game I played properly with large scale battles was Battlefield 1942.
Any tips? or any guides you know of that would give me a bit of direction!

There's some beginners guides on youtube that seem OK.. I just did it by trial and error and using what I knew from the last one. A lot has changed, capture and hold of large bases still takes ages which is a pain, you cant capture the large places solo and they've tried hard to build in more teamwork neccesity, there is still the "zerg" of mindless wallies who get bogged down but get in a decent squad/platoon with a decent leader (normally the guys that take it a bit too seriously) and it can be good fun. I still cant fly, it was quite easy in the last one, all a bit odd in PS2.
Here's a quick and dirty get you started guide..

i'm NC and on the lithcorp server. A lot to get your head around compared to pc but will be giving it another bash tomorrow night.
