I've just done the Oil Depot mission with Sam. Quite a laugh in a completely unrealistic Gung-Ho way. hehe

Sam's rather amusing, isn't he. smile

I'm done.

I have by no means got 100%, but I dont think running about collecting relics is much fun, and I have taken enough outposts for it to be of nominal interest now.

Cant really see much in the way of replayability sadly, other than restricting equipment/skills i can use during a playthrough which doesn't appeal.
I've just finished it (chose the "good" ending) and thought the ending was really a little lame to be honest. And, as you say, I don't see a lot in the way of replayability. But even so, I think it was very good value for money and I'm very glad I bought it and played it.

Also I forgot to turn the music on for the last mission as suggested. But never mind, it was still a lot of fun. smile

Edit: Also, just to mention it again, but the game saving is totally st. I would quite like to replay the last few missions again, but I can't without starting over. That is just crap. Utter, utter crap.

Given the scenario, take a guess as to what the music is wink

(hint, you've heard it once before in game, but not as part of the soundtrack)

Unlikely. I turned the music off within the first hour or two of gameplay. smile

Flying in a helicopter, gunning people down...familiar? Reminiscent of a famous movie scene perhaps?

Ah right. With you. How derivative. smile

Edit: Now you come to mention it, Ride of the Valkyries is played briefly as part of a cut scene. Can't remember if it is Sam or Hoyt. But, yes.

Yes, I'd be inclined to agree with that.

Also, given the ending (well, the one you don't die in), I assumed that the Rakyat would all be hostile to you after you killed their goddess / priestess Citra (what a nutcase she turned out to be!). Ok, it would have been tedious if all 'liberated' outposts were now hostile but still would have been more believable. Although I guess you could argue the Rakyat consider Jason to have replaced Citra.

Agreed its downhill after you kill vaas in such a poor manner, as it was said In that link that was posted it could have been such a better story.

Does anyone else think that "Citra" sounds like a brand of Kitchen Cleaner liquid? hehe

It's been a year since I played my ps3 - this time last year, it was uncharted 3. As a former gamer who doesn't play games, it's a treat when I do.

It's been a crap Christmas with the flu and a death in the family, everyone has gone out for boxing day (except me, feel too ill) so, home alone and wrapped up warm, I'm just about to fire up far cry 3 thumbup

Firing up in 10 seconds! biggrin

I've not read the thread yet, but how long is the single player campaign, fully and slowly explored (my playing style) ?

I've been playing it fairly regular for a few weeks now in that style and I'm about halfway through.

First job for you is to get your 4-weapon holster crafted!

On the "Monkey See, Monkey Boom" final mission, I was sure that when Hurk gives you som C4 and hugs you, he was going to blow you up like his monkeys. Of course, I guess that's the whole 'gag' of the mission (which was quite fun, I must admit).

Someone show me how to hold my gun...

I've crafted a holster, can carry two weapons.
Ps3 - I hold L2, and can see my AK in top slot.
Holding L2, the right slot is now unlocked...
In the shop, I can't but an mp5, as I already have one (just bought it)

The question is, why doesn't my mp5 appear when I hold L2? I can carry 2 weapons, have them apparently, but can't equip anything other than the Kalashnikov which was my first weapon.

Ammo is scarse, so a big boo hoo frown
hehe

What have I done wrong?

If you haven't already worked this out, you need to use the shop to 'equip' the weapon.

Also, remember that when picking up a new weapon from the floor, you'll swap out the one you're holding unless you have an empty space.

Any tips on getting the sharks skin for the 4 pouch weapon holster?
Tried shooting, didnt work. Next step is trying that hunting syringe and diving in and mashing one with hands. Is that the way?
Awesome game, seems much better than FC2 and much less monotonous so far. Only a couple of hours in
