I only did about 3 laps in the Clios, I just got bored. The G40 is a nice little car to drive though, not enough power for RWD to be much of an issue in the dry.
I did the first race at Oulton yesterday, just be a bit careful through Druids as it doesn't really like a trailing throttle much.

I'm still making my mind up about this game, it just seems a little inconsistent. There are quite a few bugs, but at times it's fun and feels fairly realistic.
But I tried one or two powerful cars in the wet and the grip and traction levels are just way too high IMO.

I can see myself playing this with a few of the cars that feel right for fun, but playing AC most of the time for realism and challenge.
It's certainly more realistic and difficult than Gran Turismo / Forza but compare it to a C9 or Cobra in AC with a dusty track surface - that's a challenge.

The Ginetta Junior is bloody lovely, it's my "go to" car for learning new tracks

My initial concerns were unfounded - it's a very forgiving car indeed, especially with some heat in the tyres

I was introduced to the sound bug last night - presume this only happens when you have a headset plugged in as I don't get it at all when I'm just using the weedy TV speakers.

I still haven't managed to connect to an online race

Ultimately it's the only racing game I have for the PS4 and it's long-awaited and being enjoyed for what it is on the basis it will improve.

I've not had any issues with this whatsoever and not seen anyone else reporting this problem either so I suspect it may be something on your end. You may need to check your internet\NAT settings.

No issues with online either here....have you opened the ports for console?

sometimes it wouldnt connect for me but usually if i try other lobbies i get in fine so maybe a problem with the hosts connection?

No issues online with BF4, GTA or anything else I've tried but maybe I just need to be more patient - have tried "quick race" and various lobbies but all with no success so far.

To be honest I'm OK not being online at the moment because I doubt I'm competitive anyway but it would be nice to have the option.

Try races with less people, often if you pick one with 14-15 players by the time you have selected it the room is full.

Is anyone else getting sound glitches?

First in the Ruf everytime i changed gear or came near the limiter the sound entirely died and just went quiet before kicking back in, Then in the BMW 320 coming out of the pitlane i got the normal engine noise then soon as manual control the sound died away and sounded like I was only getting an air intake sound, It was so quiet i couldnt hear the revs' at all.

No idea if thats just how the cars sounds in the game but definately didnt sound right.

Also havent heard my race engineer in while, even though he is pointless and just repeats the same crap and talks in the middle of corners.

So i restarted my PS4/Rage quit and went for a smoke, Came back and i got my sound back and now i can hear what gear im in.
Now my trolley man is not letting me out the pits, Hes just standing their looking like hes about to have an orgasm over his trolley. all the other cars are going out the pits and hes just standing there humping that thing.

Definatelly coming across alot of bugs.

I think i have sound glitches. I keep hearing what sounds like a bag of spanners rattling around. I think it happens when braking so assume one of the sound effects has gone awry

I finally managed to get onto a track with some human opposition, I had a few instances of it just not going in to the lobby as before and then some where I joined and races either never started or just sat loading forever but then eventually I found myself at Brands in the GT3 class. Slightly daunting having never driven any of the GT3 cars and it was fairly sweary with irate people complaining that nobody can drive but I gave it a whirl. Qualified 1st by 0.2 and then the game crashed out and I had to restart.

I'm getting there I guess

After nailing the kart championship I was invited to drive some McLaren F1's. These seem to be quite a challenge! Putting a wheel on the grass causes all sorts of moments!

One thing I have noticed is the AI being rubbish! They don't notice you diving up the inside and will not give you room at all if you go around the outside. I have been punted off into a wall a lot of times. Plus I got shunted into the pack and must have been T-boned at around 150mph....sadly there wasnt the shower of body parts I was expecting, my car was buggered but the AI just drove off

Not sure what i'm doing wrong or what i've set wrong but I just cannot get consistent control between cars. One moment I can be in a formula Rookie car thrashing it around donnington in the wet with complete control of everything the car is doing and then I can jump in to Mk2 escort and be completely out of my depth with the car understeering/oversteering (depending on tire pressures) far too easily and barely getting around some corners like the hairpin at Catalunya and completely struggling to set a single clean lap its just as though it has barely any grip at all and far too much steering lock whereas the formula car feels perfect.

I found the MK1 Escort racing I was invited to a lot harder than ragging an RS500 down the pacific highway, the MK1 has been the most frustrating car I've driven so far but it was still quite fun trying to keep those big Mercs at bay on the straights.

I've just ordered a copy of this this morning. What a fking pain in the arse!

I wanted a copy for the Xbox One, as I have more friends on the Xbox One and more pride in my achievement score there, so more reason to play this on the Xbox than on my PS4. Amazon don't seem to have any copies in stock at all, they list three 'new' copies on the page which turn out to be sold by a seller called 'Bellaluna', with a ridiculous shipping date (typical Amazon seller trick of showing a really long shipping date to avoid any 'fail to deliver on time' complaints). I don't fancy waiting until July to play this.

Duly, I looked at the PS4 copies and could get one delivered tomorrow from Amazon. Not that I'd be there to play it, so I ordered a used copy which should arrive on Monday or thereabouts.

Some of the achievements sound quite good. I'm not sure if I'll bother cheesing the 24hr race achievement or not. I'd do it myself if you could save your progress, but since it has to be done in one sitting, a lot of people seem to be using a method of either sitting the car off track and leaving the console for a day, or setting an AI driver away.
