How about checking this video out for another POV of the PS4 version? www.youtube.com/watch?v=6l-vpULIXuQ
If it's not been officially announced yet, then I can't confirm the presence or absence of Nordschleife here. Let's just say that I'll be as disappointed as anyone if it's not in there...
Quite a few previews have hit the web in the last few days, and they're overwhelmingly positive (yay!). That one with the Maccy D's analogy is the only negative one I think I've read. There'll always be some that don't like what they're playing / reading / watching / etc. Comes with the territory.
In terms of where the game is sat, physics-wise: with all the assists off, it's a proper simulator. People seem to fall into camps where they prefer Assetto Corsa or prefer us, but we're confident that the quality of the underlying sim is right up there with the best of them.
Players can choose to add layers of assists to make it more pick-up-and-play if they so wish. But an arcade game this ain't. It's a proper simulation, but one which can be made appropriate to whatever the skill level of the person playing it.
That professional racing drivers use it to train for upcoming races (and they do) speaks volumes.

I really like the physics of the Forza series and feel it has improved alot from the early days, does the handeling and whole feel of the cars compare?PJDubyaM said:

What is your take on the debacle with Logitech wheel support on PS4 ?It seems to be a bit of a squabble - Sony say its up to Logitech to create a driver, Logitech say there is a security chip needed in the device to work with the PS4 and they can't do it.
I've seen all sorts of stuff like the chip story is a misnomer and Logitech don't want to bother with the market or that Sony don't want to allow Logitech in to the market because there is an exclusive deal with Thrustmaster and all sorts of other theories.
Either way, do you think its going to affect sales on that platform? I'm reluctant to buy a "sim" with no wheel, my only options are the Thrustmaster T80 that only has 200 degrees of travel, no force feedback for ~£80, the T300 which isn't supported by all games (from what I can see) and its ~£250 or the T500 which is ~£375 - my take is the T80 is naff and the others are way too expensive, the flipping machine is only £300!
There are a whole bunch of DFGT/G27 owners out there who might pay £40 for a game if their wheel worked?
The lack of wheels for me isn't a deal breaker, though having tried the game out just on controller I hope to have a wheel sooner rather than later as I just couldn't seem to find the grip limits without going over them and spinning (this was back in october so the handling may have changed now).
The wheel is a dealbreaker for me and unfortunately i wont be buying the game despite my original excitement.
Im sure most people will tell you after using a g27 or similar, going back to a controller is just not possible.
I dont think we will ever find out what the deal is with logitech and sony, But sony's locked down ancillary's market will hurt alot of games of this nature but it seems sony has weighed up the money it will make selling its overpriced wheels compared to lost market sales on its platform and has now chosen.
Its something i would expect from microsoft not from sony.
Have a g27 for sale if anyones interested.

I must say the in cockpit animations look pretty bad. The hand animations need to be sorted at least. whenever the wheel is turned past 90 degrees the driver for some reason takes his left hand off the wheel and puts it under his right like palming a car around in a supermarket, it looks stupid. It would annoy me constantly.
and the gear change animation is terrible too.

I think once you get past how a game looks its all about the way it plays, especially with a car game, I'd rather have a game where the physics feel spot on and you can feel the weight of the car, instead of it looking 100% spot on.and the gear change animation is terrible too.
I love Drive club but the handling is not I would imagine, a patch on how Project cars will be like.

It does look rather good.
Really need to pull my finger out and build a proper PC to run some racing games.
Another beta tester here.
I've remarked before (maybe even on this thread) that pCars has come a very long way. When it started it was rubbish (I guess to be expected with a beta)
I have to say that this may be my simulation of choice when it is out fully. I have iRacing and AC and RF2 and all have their pro's and cons but this might be the all round package. That said, I don't think it will beat iRacing for multiplayer but physics are well up there. It is certainly nothing like Grid or the similar. I'd say it was very close to or maybe even exceeding iRacing and AC.
It takes a bit of grunt to run it on triple screens but boy it looks pretty when you have everything dialed up.
I've got a new fast whizzy internet connection in the past week so if anybody has any requests to see short vids of a combination of track/car/weather/time of day then please shout and I will see what I can do.
