I was under the impression that all cars are unlocked / available from the get go - as in, unlike Forza or GT there is no currency system so you can pick and drive any of the games cars as soon as you start the game.
^ yes, this ^

The delay is a good thing. It shows that they are being allowed to make the game they want to, not rush it out for the publisher.

It was previously sold out aswell, hence why I was surprised when the guy on previous paged mentioned having ordered it! It was available again, maybe because of people dropping out, it may come around again, but as said the cars available with it will probably make it as DLC to the general public

What is the point of a release date then?

I don't follow. If the release date isn't fixed, then what is its point?

Oh grow up, would you prefer they released a half finished buggy game just so you can play it?

I watched that video at lunch today, very interesting, I was eager to learn a bit more about the career structure so look forward to further videos.

Me and my friends have been contemplating which order we'll be going for the 3 career goals..

Pete, when will you be starting a PH competition to win a copy of the game (and a PS4 with Thrustmaster wheel thrown in for good measure)?

Obviously the comp should only be open to people in this thread who have shown initial interest. And then limited to people who don't already own/can't afford to buy all the above.

I'll PM you my the winner's address wink

That was me, it all seems to have gone through. Got a order confirmation and pre order confirmation from GAME!

Yeah thanks for that chap, I got the same through yesterday - after trying in 3 separate stores I had given up hope of it being available.

There's a few on eBay for substantially more than Game were charging, the seller will post it you as they receive it on release day laugh

Are we going to have in game physics close to or surpassing the Forza Series?

That is the first time I've seen the driver making corrections and the car understeering and oversteering, further I notice there is oversteer induced by hard braking and the rear wanting to come around as he turns into the corkscrew over the top of the hill...this is the kind of video I've been hoping to see.

Thanks, that explains the purpose of a release date perfectly.

Got to say, not for experience of Project CARS but for other games, missing a release date seems more likely to mean that when it is released it wil be incomplete and full of bugs. They miss a release date because they didn't have enough time, so they rushed, and then you end up with Gran Turismo. Late, incomplete, and full of bugs.
