This is prob going to sound like a really stupid question, but I'd there an option to choose what some of the car the driver sits? I've ordered a shifter and will be getting a 3 pedal set but I'd like to mount on my left like most cars in the country, not have to swap from side to side depending on the car I feel like driving? (ps4 mostly but maybe getting a decent pc in summer)

How you have your rig setup should make no difference to how it looks on screen. Even if youre in a LHD race car you should be able to leave your gaming setup how you prefer it - if that make sense

That makes sense, but sitting in the left side of a car and still shifting with my left hand when the animation is using the right hand would disorientate me a little I think.

Most (not all) tin top race cars are left hand drives and most single seaters use right hand gear sticks unless they have paddles in real life so I'm guessing they've modelled the cars to match.

Oh well, I think it's a bit of a shame, seems like it would be very easy to implement a feature to select what the driven side is. I still have a while before the game is out and my shifter arrives so I can decide closer to the time how I feel about it :-)

Thanks

I've left it rather late to pre-order and now it seems the limited edition version is out of stock everywhere. Is it likely that there will be new stock available or have I missed out?

There is no option to change the drive side, they modelled it from the car they had access to.

They do however have the Nords and a Lotus 49, I had a go at a lap, not a clean lap hehe

It is every bit as tricky as it looks, it needs to be driven on the throttle which inevitably leads to mucho oversteer and some brushes with the armco, anything slower and it just understeers hopelessly wide. Virtual sunnies were needed at several points and it also tries very hard to kill you if you go over a hill/bump/painted line/leaf/grass/tarmac/anything remotely non rubber/rubber...

Bloody knackering but very fun!

The game looks great but the the hand movement (at the point where hands would be crossed) does look a little spazzy - I reckon if you were drifting in this game and sawing from left to right the drivers hands would look like he was doing the Charleston.

What is going on with the driver's hands?! At one point I paused it and no hands were gripping the wheel!

Excellent realism there, the hands were covering the driver's eyes smile

EDIT: Just watched the video... yep I'd sure have my eyes covered!

There are very few RHD racecars, stuff I've worked on that's RHD has primarily been low volume UK built - Lola LMP cars were made RHD. All Aston racers are LHD, if nothing more than for uniformity of parts throughout the world.
I've seen novice drivers pick up driving left hookers really quickly, once you stop trying to change gear with the door handle its easy!

Saying that most single seaters have the gearshift on the right so feels like LHD anyway...

So this is out in April, I think it's finally time to get a PS4 looks brilliant apart from the hands. Certainky looks better than GT6

Exactly. I put the '(not all)' disclaimer in as i knew someone would pick me up on it if i hadnt with reference to UK club racing, BTCC and other grass roots racing.

This has always confused me - why, when the majority or motor racing circuits are clockwise, would the driver be on the outside of the car? Wouldn't it be better to have the driver's weight on the inside of the car as it were? Would also have thought it would be easier for the driver to place the car too
