Once im a bit higher level I will buy the Scania highliner (?) and start to modify it. Ive seen some nice skins for those.

Me and Mark done a bit of multiplayer last night, no real issues with others on the road, most give a 'hello beep beep'

callmedave I've added you on steam dude, though I'm mostly playing ATS since the rescale which is amazing.

Halfway down page 56 of this thread has a good list that I pulled together of the main trucks on the scs forum. The American trucks I think are mostly outdated now so won't work, but the EU ones and the Aussie RTA Payware ones are working.

The Mighty Griffin Scania tuning pack makes already the most popular brand even more popular! Mine is in my post on the top of page 57.

However nothing can replace my DAF XF for my favourite truck wink

Tommo are you "ECR33" on Steam? Tried adding you earlier (I'm MJ)

I don't normally run a lot of mods apart from the Promods map expansion (which is fking awesome to say the least) and a few sound mods (mostly Kriechbaum's ones, much more rorty and interesting than the flat sounding stock sounds - one reason I don't play much multiplayer although this there an alternative - http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=... - which works well enough).

However I've started using this MAZ truck mod, which is nicely detailed (like the exposed engine under the cab) and sounds like a proper, unrefined, noisy russian truck biggrin It's currently my favourite.

I've just got back into this. Last played in 2010 ish I think.
Anyhows added a few mods and there was an update Tuesday which has caused all my saved games not to work. Says mods no longer compatible but I can't turn them off cause it causes issues in the game.

Yup, I accepted Mark. I used to run tons of mods, but like downward above the updates killed my save. I try to run as few as possible but it's not easy lol, I currently have;

sound mods
weather mods
real company names
jazzycat's traffic & trailers
then 3 trucks (Daf XF E6, Scania R, and Kenworth K200)
followed by quite a few skins I've done and then some misc bits (like petrol stations etc)

Downward, have you tried to put it back to the version you were using? If you go back to v1.11 or w/e you were on and then sell the mod trucks etc. Get yourself back to your garage with nothing but SCS stuff and no delivery.

Failing that if you can't remove them then I think you'll have to restart, but if not you could remove them from the mod folder so they error and then you can click on "remove all". Then when you log in you'll have to sell any mod trucks (which will default to Scania R's) which could cause game crashes so you might have to restart anyway, but if you get past that you'll have to buy yourself a truck again and then you can pick up from where you left off.

I use about the same too, a couple of trucks and some wheels, besides Promods; it always breaks if you haven't played for a while, but I've somehow been lucky in getting it sorted out with only a job reset.

Managed to fix ATS last night, it's been a few months so it was nice to sit back with my controller and enjoy driving around, rather than getting angry playing Overwatch smile I like what I've seen from the rescale so far.

I had no profiles showing in either game and no mods in the manager. The problem was the homedir. I have a game partition where both are installed, but I can't remember if I had launch options set before, none were set now. Either way it was picking up the ATS folder in My Documents instead.

Setting '-homedir G:\' fixed the mods, but my profiles were still missing, I worked my way back through the version numbered profile backup folders until I found one with my profile. I think it was 1.4.1, so something must have changed around that time. I did start a new profile while it was broken, so not sure if that is what created the My Documents folders or not, I'll check my backups.

Trying ETS tonight, so fingers crossed!

Nice work, I downloaded piva's weather mod as it alters the graphics abit although now I occasionally hit the render limit for trees.

Did a couple of DAF paintjobs, one for the SCS truck;

and one for the Stanley version (also did the lightbox)

I've started trying to build my own truck in blender for ATS, pictures are in that thread, it's nothing much yet but hopefully I will get there in the end smile

Yes that's what I have on ETS2, also with this hdr fix
http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&p=...

And true lights
http://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=...

I use v2.5 on ATS as 2.6 messes with the true lights version over there.

Sorry for the thread resurrection, I see this is on steam for £3.74. It seems like a pretty silly idea for a game, but weirdly it gets very positive reviews!

It is strangely addictive.

Even makes it into the PC Gamer top 100 games for exactly the same reason "weirdly addictive and a calming game".

I've taught myself how to use photoshop and do some 3D modelling from playing this and the American version, never thought I go for something like this.

I start playing something new alongside and ETS2 fizzles out then I come back to it again after a while, still incredibly popular looking at the Steam numbers. It's always a complete pain in the arse to get working again, but somehow managed to keep my save going for 5 years smile

Still looks great these days too (esp. with Promods and the Frkn64 graphics mod), the map quality went up a lot way back with the Scandinavia dlc and ATS, the few vanilla and Going East parts still there with Promods look crap now.

They've got rid of DX9 entirely with 1.36, which would be a good thing however the new AA type they put in is still a ste one. I've been using nvinspector for years for sgssaa which only works for DX9. They have redesigned the power line graphics etc. but the flickering of things like fences are pretty shocking apparently even at 400% scaling, so I'm staying on 1.35 for now.

Trying to complete the map at moment got from 18% to 46% in 2 months so will take a while biggrin Driving round in a DAF 95 which is a bit slow with 430 brake but finding it more fun somehow. https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t...

I used to play this for hours. And hours, and hours.
Then one day I found out that to get to 100%, you have to drive every piece of road in both directions, and the whole thing kinda died on me right there...

It's something I dig out every now and then if I fancy a bit of trucking, although when I do I've now taken to disabling the speed limiters and speed cameras, that way I can just blast around Europe at 80mph+ like a maniac - probably takes away from the sedate nature of the game but certainly means you get jobs done quicker!

I'd like to see them update the graphics engine, as it's certainly showing its age now, would also like a bit more management from the company side of things, but I'm sure there'll either be a ETS3 on the horizon or mods to fix this in the future.

They've recently moved over to DX11 on both games to remedy exactly that. I believe that Utah and Road to the Black Sea both came out after that and it might be placebo but both of them have much more going on and no drop in performance compared to other DLC's.
